SEATTLE -- Actor James Doohan -- who played Chief Engineer Montgomery "Scotty" Scott on the 60's "Star Trek" television series, has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

Damn, that sucks. He is my favorite original series character!! That disease is just horrible!! :(

Meanwhile, my mother has the same thing, early signs of Alzheimer's, for a couple years now. Sucks. :(

I hope I'm still coherent if I get diagnosed with it - I'll gladly say my goodbyes and take a hand full of pills. What a horrible, horrible disease. :(
