Edwards is young, energentic, and speaks very well. It was a good choice.

However right now with polling data I have seen, Edwards does not help out in any state - which is a good thing.

Bush has to keep the South, or he is doomed.

With the African American vote lost... it seems doom looms on the horizon.

Blacks have been voting 90%+ for democrats for past 40 years, if it were not for this number Democrats would have never attained ANY National office.

What I find funny is that blacks are the most loyal party people, yet over the past 40 years even when Democrats have won elections and had power in congress the conditions for most blacks over all NEVER improve.

If the Black Community was wise, they would not just give their votes to Democrates but rather make them earn it. If they played their cards right they could determine each election and have both parties pandering to them. The democrates take them for granted....

Nothing will change anytime soon Evil Chris..... The hispanic vote will be more important in the future - they are the largest minority as it is in the US passing up blacks the past year. Their numbers are growing faster and faster....

I think it is both a strong ticket, and sets up edwards as the next guy to get a shot... future Presidential material is he doesn't fuck it up.

Bush woudl do better dumping Chenney and getting a running mate that actually brings something to the table.

Damn good choice. I would prefer it was an Edwards/Kerry ticket myself but I might just vote for Kerry now.

The selection of John Edwards as Kerry's running mate is only slightly more remarkable than the selection of Dick Cheney as Bush's running mate for this election.

Edwards was the most energetic campaigner on the trail this year. Edwards' populist message plays very well in a number of swing states (he polled much higher than Gephart in rural areas of Gephart's home state of Missouri, where the only thing they hate more than a politician from Kansas City is a politician from St. Louis). The traditional job of the VP is to be the attack dog.

Not only that, but Hispanics are gearing to actually turn out and vote more. In local elections Hispanics have done very well as the Hispanic voters are getting out in force.

This is what is funny about the black vote and the yourh vote. Here are people who could make a difference but choose to not vote at all. This is why politicians etc. listen to the bluehairs and religious right, they VOTE.

Too often people in this country forget that politicians don't represent the people, they represent the VOTERS.

I've had this conversation many times with the canvassers trying to get marijuanna legalized. They all scream for legalization, but none of them get out and vote themselves. Yet, the Mormons (we have a lot of them in Nevada, especially Las Vegas) get out and vote and are able to trounce they type of things.

Edwards was a good pick I think.. down side is I live in North Carolina so I'll have to listen to shit about Edwards for the next year.. One of the things I hate about the local news is they try to find a "Carolina connection" in every story..

Example:

A carjacking took place in Los Angeles today and it was witnessed by someone who knows someone in Podunk, North Carolina. More at 11...

A professor was honored today by the National Institute of Whatever The Hell. Professor WhoEver once passed through North Carolina on a layover flight.

This can be a sad place on slow news days.. haha
