I hope it is Edwards - he will not even help Kerry carry his own state.
The Gephster can help deliver missouri which is an important state for Kerry to win.

I think Edwards is a talented guy, up and comer - but the polls I have seen shows that at least now he will not help the ticket in many states. Thing can obviously change during the campaign.
Edwards is a smooth speaker.

Mike ... I think Edwards will help Kerry more in Missouri than Gephart would, where the people outside the two big cities say "St. Louis" pretty much with the same sneer that the cowboys in the old El Paso commercials used to say "New York City."
The guy is a hell of a campaigner ... he (like Clinton and Reagan) is the kind of speaker that can have a real effect on a crowd, and pick up the undecideds.

Edwards is the best speaker in the 04 campaign - no doubt about it.
All that work chasing ambulances has honed in his jury skills.
I personally think all trial lawyers should be hung.

Good, Gephart makes me vomit in my own mouth.
Edwards will make Kerry stronger in the south, and in lower income areas.
Bush needs to dump Cheney, or hope he kicks off. that guy has his hands firmly choked around the pulse of america.

Smart money says Cheney steps down at the convention, probably claiming "health reasons"....possibly to take another role with the staff.
It wouldn't surprise me to see either Colin Powell or Condi Rice bumped to the V.P. spot on the ticket.

Interesting., i've never thought of those 2
But if anything happens it most likely be Giuliani. Rumors start for a reason, to test the waters, and Giuliani is looking like the one.

V.P.'s are selected in election years for the votes they can bring that the Presidential candidate will have trouble reaching himself.
Make no mistake, Edwards was selected because they think he'll play well with the southern voters. He's also a better speaker and more personable, which should also help grab some fence sitters.
Giuliani makes sense for the same reasons. He can potentially cost Kerry some votes in the northeast with his popularity.
Rice or Powell could be selected to try to draw minority voters who are normally automatics for the democrats.
