How come we can't send emails via the board??

Hmmm I sent you an e-mail from Oprano. Did you not get it?

I got an email from a cheater who'd had his ePassporte account closed for fraud the other day, so it must be working for some people ;)

when I try to send I get this message:

The error returned was:

Sorry, you are not permitted to send an email via this board

Well, this is the problem, Gigi.... All of the mail that the "board" sends (when the feature is turned on) goes thru the default admin email address - meaning MY ed@oprano.com email address.... So if 40 people use the board to send mail to fellow opranoauts, that email goes thru my account (and my mail server) and MY BANDWIDTH to get to them....

I could have turned it on for a bit and just kept an eye on it to see if it got out of hand, but I just don't have the time to babysit things so I just didn't turn it on.... Besides, this way is a bit more secure - Meaning no malcontents of dubious character can spam our goodly citizens thru the system. I'd say if you HAVE to contact a user, just shoot them a PM that says what you want, or ask for a REAL email address that you can use. That way, the Opranaut in question gets the option (1) of WHAT email addy to give you and (2) whether or not to even give you one! :awinky:

The long of the short of it is..... no. sorry. Ninjas would kick my ass.
