Took 4 hours, but I found out how to get rid of that piece of shit spyware virus.
Any program that goes to such great lengths to make sure that it cannot be uninstalled isn't just trying to be helpful, it is trying to fuck me over.
There is a particular hell for assholes like you.
Alex
PS: Switched over to firefox, just to see what it is like... so far not terrible.

yeah that one really sucks
to remove it you need CWSshreder.exe file
if you didnt run it Alex, you probably still have componets left ofer

CWSshredder doesn't event get rid of all fo it anymore... you need that and hijack this AND a good manual registy editing session to get rid of all fo the pieces, plus some good manual file deleting for good measure. The combination isn't easy to find, ya see that these bastards actually redirect searches for removal tools to show only results for PAY tools that they sell. So they give you the sickness, and offer to sell you the cure.
I am sure that many people buy the cure, not realizing they are buying from the same bastards that infected them. One of the tools they were selling even installed a trokan of it's own when I tried the demo.
Nice.
This makes spam look like child's play.

Man that sucks. I have found that I do not surf like I used to before. I now pretty much stick to sites I know.
I used to really surf, going all different direction for work or for fun, but those days are over because of the crap that is out there.
I wonder how many surfers are dong the same?
These people are killing the entire internet experience, and I am sure its effecting commerce along the way.

That's a very good idea.
Of course, it will be abused, but eh, still nice

I agree but at least it might give us something temporarily
Also if scumware looses some of it's market share and more importantly $$$ the take over and fuck up your computer movement might slow down (what would happen if there's no profit in it?)
I keep hearing more and more about non savvy computer users just having their machines rendered useless for the most part

Try running some protection software. It will free up your day to sort spam.

brad, spyware pisses me off... but viral self re-installing won't go away even if you ask it nicely shit is the end. As a business model, that is a one way ticket to either ending up as Bubba's bitch or in a dark alley with a slug in the back of your head when some super pissed end user tracks you down (I am pissed, not super pissed, so no implied threat there, M'kay?).
Thankfully even the US lawmakers are smart enough to see this as a plague, and have moved to put legislation in place. I hope they allow civil action on these things too. They we will see who has the most time to delete spam.

Reading some of the info out there, it looks like this is a Russian mob organized crime thing. Some of the domains involved are familiar to me as using autosubmitting tools for link sites and TGPs, so I understand where their install base is coming from. I can see where the real power and money is behind this, and it isn't going to go away any time soon.
For those people who come to this board and buy traffic from these people, well, your just nice indirect scum. Hope you sleep well at night knowing how your business model is based.

Need some help getting this shit off your system? Want to know to what lengths these little fucks go to keep it on your system? How about "hidden registry items"... things you cannot remove even with regedit?
