I bought MVL today at 19.12.
1) they paid off their debt early and now debt free with $150 mln on hand in cash
2) CEO was on CNBC today and cited possibility of stock buyback/dividend
3) short interest is rather large
4) Spiderman return is about to hit movie theaters
I anticipate the move to previous highs withing 2-5 months
will it happen? I'll let you know

it's at an attractive low point, could deffinately see a nice spike for someone like me, or long term gains for someone like you.
smart thinking. when I have the funds to make trades whos %age gains = a house, will you still be around to share your thoughts?
right now any trades i make = just more cash to reinvest.
I see my stock value dropping on july 3 when I turn 21, but will rebound by the 10th. :awinky:

could be someone cutting their losses from the downward slope.
that or the company is selling off some of their shit and someone knows (but that can make a stock go either way depending)

Probably a good play, it worked with the last Spiderman movie. I doubled my money in just a few weeks on that one and bailed.
I bought in about a month before spiderman came out....when the movie did such huge business and the studios snapped up the rights to just about all remaining Marvel characters, the stock skyrocketed.

I like 1, 2, & 3, but they all mean nothing without #4.
Its a matter of if you think the 2nd SpiderMan will do huge business where the sucess remains.
I don't know a lot about the movie biz, but I personally don't think for the most part sequels compare to the originals, except in prolonged series (Star Wars, Lord of the Rings).
I'm not a big movie person, but one example I can think of is the Matrix. I'm sure people can think of a ton of movies to counter this argument - I just don't know how willing I am to invest in a stock that relies on one movie for its success.
Are they coming out with any other movies?
Good Luck Serge, 1,2,and 3 all sound promising, its #4 that I worry about.

well...they do not make movies, but they own rights to all the charecters.
#4 doesn't worry me, what does worry me is the huge blocks on the sale side.
