That's right, when you don't agree with someone, shut them the fuck up, it's the American way.
So, let's move America Forward.
Forward to a more beautiful place where we don't have to hear anything we don't like.
Forward to a place where we all agree and don't have to waste time arguing about piddly ass things like personal freedoms or morals.
Forward to a more Stalinesque future where our conservative brothers can decide what is safe for us to hear and see.
Forward to an Aryan utopia where those that do not agree will not be able to bother us with their drivel.
First, let's start with the cinematographers, then we can get rid of the rest of the liberal media ilk with their communistic pinko blathering, then let's move on to the Jews..
Seig Heil !!!!!
:okthumb:
Michael Moore has attacked our troops, attacked our Commander in Chief and attacked the victims of 9/11 saying: “The passengers on September 11 were scaredy-cats, because they were mostly white.”
Does anyone know if that's true?
There's nothing wrong with personal boycotts. I would have a problem if these people were going to the government asking for legislation to stop Michael Moore and his movie, but they're not doing that at all.
Why do you have a problem with this? This is no different than people organizing to call radio stations and asking them to take Limbaugh off the air. Nothing wrong with that at all.
Example: http://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=slv1-&ei...oycott+limbaugh (http://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=slv1-&ei=UTF-8&p=boycott+limbaugh)

Vick, I do not know whether he said it or not, from what I see it is attributed to a columnist writing about a Moore appearance in London...

I have a problem with anyone trying to stop something whether Left, Right, Middle, whatever from being shown or said.
Boycotting the theaters that show it, no problem. Even making me walk through the picket lines to see it if I want to see it, no problem. But attempting to stop it from being shown goes way beyond that point.
And I do not agree with trying to get Limbaugh or any other columnist, talking head, whatever off the air. If you don't want to hear him, fine, don't listen. Enough people don't listen, the ratings go down and he ends up off the air. Demanding that they remove him because they do not agree with his views is wrong.

Moore is an idiot, but he has a right to be heard.
Speaking of Rush, who would havee thought this picture would ever become a reality?

As long as no one is going to the government to get someone banned, there's nothing wrong with it. After all, no theatre has to take these people seriously -- a manager can tell these would be censors to go fuck themselves. They can't force people not to show the Moore film.

It may not be illegal. But there is plenty wrong with it.
Anytime any entity attempts to stop a message from being heard, there is something wrong. That is censorship, straight and simple. Whether it comes from the government or any other authority, an organized group, a random mob or just your next door neighbor.
We each have the choice to listen to a message or not, we do not have the choice of just shutting down the messenger because we do not happen to like what he/she/it is saying.

I have a saying at my house (I tell my kids it quite often), "The constitution ends at the front door".
You have the right to control what is said within your private property by all means. As you know, you do not have the right to go into other peoples servers (unless they explicitly give you that right) and shut him down on their boards.
Basically, it is like Ronald Reagan said (and this is probably the only time you will ever see me quote Ronnie) "I paid for the microphone".

Sare, sorry but you are wrong.
It's called freedom. That means that you have to take it even when it is something you disagree with.
Buff is right on.

Geez.... Sare, the constitution tells the Government what it can and cannot do, not the people.

I don't believe I ever told Buff he was wrong (at least not in this thread...lol) and I even capitulated that trying to do what they were doing is legal. I still believe it is wrong, as in morally and ethically.

I don't think I implied that you said that, just that he was right in his assessment.
