Ok, so I picked up a recent issue of AVN (Jen put the last few issues into our bathroom cause I hadn't even been opening them as of late..too busy trying to get programming projects done), anyway, I leaf through and their is an article that mentions suicidegirls and several other sites and the methods they were using to create additional revenue off of existing members. I had heard of suicicidegirls before, but had not looked at it at all. I knew it was a goth/alternative type site and that was about it.

So, I went to take a peek. Very impressive. Extremely sticky to say the least. A very attractive mix of pretty softcore porn (playboy with tatoos and piercings), News (stories submitted by readers and from other sources), original articles, interviews, messageboards, chatboards, webcam areas and a whole lot more. Lots and lots of things for members to do and see.

I went and looked for an affiliate program and did not see one. I did however see that members could earn "points" for various activities. These included herding traffic and getting new members to sign up. Designing new banners and buttons and so forth. Very cool idea, get members and all you are giving away is points that can be traded in for suicidegirls gear such as T-shirts and shot glasses and such.

hey are you Dmoney? and how did Jen get into your bathroom?

The suicide girls were out of Portland, not heard too much lately, I think they moved....

also, now you see the direction I am taking www.420calendar.com

I am attempting to make it stickey, get people, then add the revenue sources in that apply.... I agreee this is a god idea they are doing.

Most people are smart enough to realize having a pic of a gothic chick isn't probable cause - having a calendar with pot plants plastered all over it will convince most judges that the police did have probable cause.

It's like idiot kids who have bumper stickers of pot plants on their car and wonder why they get searched. Why brag about illegal activities unless you really wanna go to jail?

I used to smoke pot...and smoked a lot. I never announced it...always was discreet and had no problems. It was always the dullards that bragged/showed off that got nailed. Cops don't care about weed - the paperwork for a recreational user isn't even worth the bust, unless you wave it in their face or they want you for something else. Discretion is the better part of valor...and avoiding catching stupid cases.

In fairness to Joesho Aeon. Portland is kinda like the U.S.'s version of Amsterdam. Very cool to 420.

I am confused, ( spare me the puns) but I thought D-Money married AVN Jenn?

Just curious, no harm meant... :D

and AEON I will go slow for the ones not paying attention...

There are currently ten states that allow for the LEGAL medical use of Marijuana, and several countries....
the Ten States are: Alaska, hawaii, California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, , Colorado, Maine, and Maryland.. and as soon as Bush is gone mark my words, several states will move to pass it more, and benifite from the econmics of it, while relieving themselves of the extreme costs, associated with the enforcement of it , and incarceration of non deserving individuals. Then I will be in a great position.

hey they even ridiculed Moses about building a boat in the desert didn't they! or was that Noah, hehe LOL
and most modern science was derived from former mad men themselves so call me crazy, but I prefer cutting edge!

Joe - Sorry to say I know first hand the state of Maryland DOES NOT allow the legal/medical use of Marijuana.
Where ever you got that information from is incorrect

Joe. I live in Maryland

Seriously, in the state of Maryland medical use of Marijuana is NOT legal, however it can be brought up in court as a defense.

It's a tricky situation here but it goes something like this

The medical marijuana provision of the marijuana possession statute states:

(i) In a prosecution for the use or possession of marijuana, the defendant may introduce and the court shall consider as a mitigating factor any evidence of medical necessity.

(ii) Notwithstanding paragraph (2) of this subsection, if the court finds that the person used or possessed marijuana because of medical necessity, on conviction of a violation of this section, the maximum penalty that the court may impose on the person is a fine not exceeding $100.

Md. Code, Crim. Law art. § 5-601©(3).

The medical marijuana provision for the possession of drug paraphernalia closely tracks the above-quoted language from § 5-601©(3), as follows:

Notwithstanding paragraph (2) of this subsection, if the court finds that the person used or possessed drug paraphernalia related to marijuana because of medical necessity, on conviction of a violation of this subsection, the maximum penalty that the court may impose on the person is a fine not exceeding $100.

Md. Code, Crim. Law art. § 5-601©(3) (marijuana possession) and §5-619©(4)(ii).

So it's not legal per se, no Doctors are prescribing Marijuana and we don't have growers here and a user for whatever reason is still subject to arrest

I believe you vick, I did not say Maryland had the best law, but they now have it in there statutes as well providing for a legal defense, there are many states struggling with how to enforce, and monitor this subject, this will play out for a few more years this way most likely, but it is inevitable that weed wil be legal in all 50 states before this decade is over, any body want to bet?

I'll take that bet... How much you want to go ? We can have Serge hold it for us.

Many of us thought back in 76 that it was inevitable it would be legal in a very short time period. With Carter getting elected there was no way it wouldn't be. But, it didn't happen then and it isn't gonna happen any time soon.

Jen's been working hard. She is also getting ready to launch a wholesale site for her stone work... She did the whole redesign herself this time. I will be writing a program to build the wholesale site.. Told her it would take "two weeks" :yowsa:
