To "borrow" a phrase from a wiser man than I - reports of my death have been somewhat exaggerated

Reports of the death of my network server and one of the PC's attached thereto were, unfortunately, NOT exaggerated at all.

6 days.

No net.

No computers.

Fuck, I almost had a life for a while there.

Close, but no cigar.

Not that anyone would have really missed me, but it is nice to be back.

:)

You are one funny fucker Serge - I love your work!!

If Carla had cut MY cable, I am sure I would have still had net, but I'd be chasing a double feature with John Bobbitt.

Energex and Suncorp Stadium actually.....

The cable itself was fine, but the server it plugged into and one of the slave PC's were not

They switched the lights on for a Thursday night training/test/whatever apparently ......

I live over the hill.....

The power raced from the grid....

The area browned out briefly .....

The power raced back....

The surge hit my place...

SIZZLE, POP, BOOM.

Now have surge protection from the electrical board through to the PC's.

I haven't had a problem with power in Brisbane yet.

So the first one HAD to be the big one.

:o

Yep, the big boy just let me know he can't make it to Brisvegas and that You and him and Dan, oh, shit, I mean me, will hook up next week.

Still looking forward to it.
