Did you ever watch SCTV

I bought this 5 DVD set (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0001S6AQE/qid=1086015972/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1/102-8997886-6549702?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846) over the weekend.

FINALLY some SCTV is out on DVD. It took long enough! This is by far some of the funniest sketch comedy ever. I remember watching it in the late 70s early 80s and laughing like mad back then. This stuff was so good that much of it was inspiration for the glory days of the people on SNL.

I recommend it!

For me, the funniest sketch on that show was when John Candy's horror movie host invented smellovision where you could spray this spray and smell what he had on screen...it started innocent until his assistant farted and he kept waving his arms "don't spray, don't spray"

fart humor never has and never will get old....my inner immature child will always have a softspot for fart humor......

Eh, so I guess Im doomed to wait another 10 years for Kids In the Hall dvds.

i have tried to explain SCTV to my UK friends but while they have some basic idea of what SNL is about SCTV appears to have just passed them by.

as is the case for a lot of people unfortunately, sarah.
I was a big fan of SNL but a little moreso a fan of SCTV. They just had their own approach to everything.
