Sorry for cross-post, this just shocks the hell out of me.
I submitted a site to CCBill, and I was denied because I'm linking to a site that links to Scarleteen, which is a (totally non-porn) info site for young people about sex, STIs, coming out, etc. Here's what CCBill sent me:
"RE: CCBill Account Number: 924799-0002.
Dear Webmaster,
http://www.femmerotic.com - Link that needs removal.
It states : This site contains sexuality, nudity, & rather salty language and is intended for adults. Under 18 and looking for sexuality information? Check out scarleteen.com.
The site provides information to minors on sex. "
GRRRRR... Loads of people link to Scarleteen, why are they giving me the cold shoulder for linking to someone who links to it?

It sounds strange that they won't allow you to link to a site that has that link to another site which isn't illegal, just info. Was it an exit link on their site?

CCBill is probably the more flexible of the 3rd party pirates ...
Seen a lot of stuff fly thru there that Epoch or Jettis would never touch.
Im sure one of em is reading and would like to respond?

Flexible? That is an awefully charitible of you Gonzo.
It is funny how CCBill operates.... they used to be gung-ho about beasty sites. They would process them no problem, it was not until VISA finally steppen in.
I found a few KP sites they were processing for as well just this year.
They process legal nude sites but not one which links to an information site for teens to teach them about sex??!?!
that make sense ....
All sites should put scarlet teen on their 'under 18 exit' link.
Furrygirl, are you Heather? long time no chat!

Ninja Steve: They "caught" me on a link to Heather Corinna, and she links to Scarleteen, although so do I. (And I know I'm not the only CCBill webmaster who does, either.)
Girl Nijna: Nope, not a mistake at all. I've been on the phone with them several times, and the phone guy keeps telling me that he needs to talk to his supervisior to talk to his supervisor... meaning I'm just getting ignored and no one will talk to be about it.
CJ: Nope, I'm not Heather.
I'm so pissy because I stayed up for two days getting the site done so I could open it on the first, and now they're giving me this shit, while I'm out of town and supposed to be having a break.

Flexible only by comparison.
Most people would say your on a witchhunt with CCBill.
However I saw the same site with Kiddie Porn being processed by them that you saw.
All in all the processing game aint fair or pretty!

you've got a right to be pissed - its fucking rediculous!
Anyone from CCBill want to explain the reasons behind this?
Furrygirl, who is your account rep there?
I'd venture a guess it has to do with the fact that Visa is probably going to fail it on compliance, just my guess, so why let it go through to them?
KK, are you seriously saying Visa would not approve the site because it has a link to a 'Teens Sex Education' website? I don't believe they would if they knew what it was ... and if so, that is a geniune argument to make visa look rediculous to even those who hate porn.
I would love to see someone try, and be rejected directly by visa *officially* for this reason ... that would be so much fun to take to the media

Got it sorted out at last:
"After further review we have approved your account and find that the mentioned violation is compliant with our AUP. Thank you for your patience with regards to this matter."
I don't think I have an account rep. I thought it was Melissa when I signed up originally, but she didn't return the last few emails I sent her.

Yeah, they have changed a little in the last couple of years, I used to have a celebb site a while back, they wont go near it now. And recently about 1 week ago, I had an approved site disapproved for "religious overtones." CCBill claims it is the banks that have an issue with this and not them, however I feel they need to define they're TOS a little better.

I'd say they would cj, they've disallowed sites for less than that recently. I don't think they'd care about the media either, since the more bad press they get about adult processing, the harder they make it to process for adult...
Anything that could be considered bad for their brand image is something they will not allow -- and to many people in the US, and probably the rest of the states, anything that promotes sex to people under 18, be it educational or amusing or whatever, it's not going to fly.
Just my guess.
And furrygirl -- Melissa is out on maternity leave, you probably need to speak with someone else --
KK, this is one i'd be prepared to fight - teens having access to sex education is something that would get enough public support.
And when the public is informed that visa still processes for a lot of more questionable sites than that ...
anyway, not worth debating now that the site was approved - but furrygirl, let us know if it happens again ;-)
Melissa is having a baby?!?!? wow congrats melissa!!!

:biglaugh:
Melissa and Doug had a baby right around Christmas, she's a doll, Abigail :)
At the end of the day, Visa doesn't give a shit about anyone but themselves, can't say as I blame them -- the more press they get involving adult, the harder they make it on adult, that is their correlation. They don't really care, there's not enough money involved for them to care :(

Thanks for all the feedback on this issue, I'm glad it got wrapped up so quickly so I could open the site. (Can't help but plug the URL, I'm so happy with it and everyone else seems to get a chuckle: http://www.vegporn.com )
