FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Re: Sweet Productions Inc. / Steve Sweet Obscenity Prosecution

Mr. Steve Sweet was today acquitted on all 20 counts of charges of making, distributing and circulating obscene videos contrary to s. 163 (8) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The Honourable Judge R.R. Low in a cogent and concise 25 page written Judgment held that that the impugned videos, consisting of scenes from SEG websites www.sadoslaves.com, www.misspain.com and www.peelovers.com left him with a reasonable doubt, on the basis of the defence evidence proffered, that the videos offended contemporary Canadian community’s tolerance for other Canadians viewing the material.

Mr. Sweet is delighted with the outcome of this seminal decision and wishes to congratulate his counsel, Paul G. Kent-Snowsell, for mounting such a thorough and vigorous defence to the charges.

The full Reasons for Judgment will be available within the next 2-3 weeks at www.provincialcourt.bc.ca using the search term <BDSM>.

A link to the 25 page decision will be posted soon for those who want more indepth info. Thanks to all those who supported us through this!

Nice... that means the bar on porn has been lowered even further in Canada. Time to get the entire industry to get out of SoCal and move to Vancouver!

haha, I was thinking the same thing....

Does everyone know what this means?
Paul G. Kent-Snowsell will now be charging even more for legal fees...so any other Vancouver based pornographer is going to have to dig a little deeper

This is the strangest business I've ever seen, why do companies cheer and say bravo when the competition wins a controversial court decision?

If you don't do business with the Sweet's wouldn't them being forced out of business help you? One less competor, one less company over the edge doing things that attractive negative attention.
Does Pepsi cheer when Coke puts together a sucessful ad campaign?
Does GM root for Ford to have record sales?

There is a difference. GM would pull for Ford if the Feds came down and said Ford could not build trucks any longer.

I am not a fan of how the Sweets conduct business, I will leave it at that.

...and what exactly Coke going to do if Pepsi is pronounced illegal substance?

Do you really beleive that Coke, which is VERY similar drink will prosper?

You gotta be from GFY and 14 years old.

OK. You guys may not like our content, how we produce it, the girls we get - whatever. That's your own personal decision.

But when it comes to business we've ALWAYS been straight up in our dealings. I challenge you to find ONE person we've fucked over.

Mike talking shit again...

As for putting the competition out of business.

The internet is about PARTNERSHIPS. Your competitor is your PARTNER. They send you their cancelled members, their exit traffic whatever..

ANY company going down in this business is bad news for all.

I'm a content producer and I'm happy to see this decision. Means the rest of us have one less thing to worry about.

And any company that needs the goverment to take out their competiton in order to prosper, doesn't deserve to be in business.

and I'll stand by that
Also if the goverment told Ford that coudn't make trucks with potentialy damaging features the GM might be happy
I disagree with companies going out of business being bad, if a company that you don't do business with goes out of business then the pie gets bigger
Nothing personal only business

Your grasp of the legalities of this industry leaves much to be desired, to put it lightly.
