It is an original Dali drawing, not a print, poster, or replica of any type. Only $160k, and it comes with a $16k voucher towards your next purchase.

naahhh, I am not, even though this is a very good drawing.

I estimate it to be about $30-40k overpriced,
compared to drawings of Chagall, Matisse I've seen.

Thank you anyway for concidering me as a potential Dali buyer,
I am flattered!

Well, glad I did not wake my friend up then. One thing I have learned over the past few months is that are dealers are willing to bargain. If you have a counter you would like me to present, I will.

For everyone else, I already helped one lucky webmaster fulfill his life dream of owning a Dali, will you be next?

I have a friend that works for Martin Lawrence Galleries (http://www.martinlawrence.com) - and they are getting ready to have another auction, so great deals are to be had.

You can get Warhol starting at $6,000, Chagall starting at $1,000, Picasso starting at $1,000, and many, many more for as low as $300.

This includes museum style framing.

If you go to the website, click on the art auctions (http://martinlawrence.com/auction_frameset.html) and if you see something you like, contact me and I will put you in touch with my friend that will let you know exactly how low you can bid, and probably win. The website prices are the retail prices, you can get them for anywhere from 40-75% less.

The San Francisco auction is tonight (Friday), and admission is free. If you would like to attend contact me and I will set up your RSVP.

Chicago will be May 2 with New York to follow on May 7. If you want to attend any of these, just let me know. Bidder need not be present to bid on the pieces however.

You can contact me at art@pimpspromo.com or ICQ 16075497 if you have any questions.

This is what our lucky webmaster purchased.

Hey, a little follow up since I talked to my friend about your comments, re: pricing.

Apparently, you know your art pretty well. They set their prices according to how the art has been moving at auctions, etc, and Dali has been fetching some good cash lately, so they did in fact recently bump the price up recently from $138k to $160k.

That being said, my friend feels that if you offered them $140k they would probably work with you.

Also, there is no sales tax since you are in FL, and they have no galleries there. Shipping is low enough that I suggested they should cover that, and she agreed.

They also have a payment plan, which can be stretched over 3 months, with no interest.

On the downside, the $16k voucher that they would have given you at $160k, would be reduced to a $14k voucher.

They also have a program where they find museums that will hang these works, and put a little plaque saying "Donated by Serge" should you be interested :matey:

Just thought I would pass this info along.

Baddog, my days of buying original Dalis are over...

back in a day I could afford 3 days salary to spend on good stuf,
today...I just won't blow my 4 month income on the same.

........and this is why I comission 10 feet by 7 feet contemporary artist painting and not 8" by 11" Dali....
Man should know his limitations and I know mine.

Thanks again for attaching to me "playa status", the status I am not fully deserve.
;-)

Have to agree with Serge on this one....art as an investment is nice, but still a gamble as is any investment.

I still love art, but prefer art the "looks nice for the wall in my house that I want to put it on". It doesn't have to be a rembrant or Dali. Just bought an animated cell, framed and matted of the Pink Panther painting himself in Dali style....I like it, the price is right and it looks great in our girls bedroom, they're pink panther fans, and so am I :bjump:

I always thought it was "dead ant, dead ant, dead ant dead ant dead ant."

Wasn't there a joke when we were kids that was the punchline to?

The cartoon was okay, but the original Pink Panther movies were great.

"Excuse me, does your dog bite?"

"No."

after dog bites him . . .

"I thought you said your dog didn't bite."

"That's not my dog"
