CAMPAIGN RAGE: FLORIDA DEMOCRATS PLACE NEWSPAPER AD CALLING FOR RUMSFELD HIT; FUNDRAISING FOR KERRY

Campaign 2004 turns extreme in Florida with the placement of a newspaper ad calling for physical retribution against Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld!

"We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say 'This is one of our bad days,' and pull the trigger," the ad reads.

MORE

The call-to-arms fundraising ad, placed by the St. Petersburg Democratic Club in the current issue of the GABBER, a local St. Petersburg paper, asks readers to make an urgent donation to the John Kerry campaign.

Club Vice President Edna McCall told the DRUDGE REPORT Tuesday morning: "We want to get our country back. In Iraq, we're in deep trouble. If we don't try to get this situation cleared up, we are finished."

When asked if the ad was a challenge to inflict violence on Rumsfeld, McCall explained: "'Pull the trigger' means let Rumsfeld know where we stand, not to shoot him!"

"We are getting raped, and they are planning to steal the election again."

McCall said her club is in direct contact with John Kerry campaign.

"We're all working together."

The publisher of the GABBER says running the ad with the passage "pull the trigger" was a mistake that "slipped through" during the editing of this week's edition.

Personally, I don't have a problem with the ad at all -- I think it should be legal to kill any politician for any or no reason whatsoever. It should be illegal for them to wear body armor or have bodyguards. That's how you make government accountable to the people.

I just think it's funny how violent the left gets in their pursuit of peace.

Got a news flash for you, buffoon ... under the labels "Democrat" and "Republican" or "left" and "right" there are a whole bunch of folks. Some of those folks have well formed opinions based on a rational assement of the issues involved, and others get their opinions from some less than objective sources. Some of them are very intelligent, others are dumber'n a box of rocks.

This may suprise you, but I'll bet there are members of the St. Petersburg Democratic Club who wouldn't have elected to use an ad with text that inflamatory. Only a fucking idiot would take such material and try to use it to be representative of ANYTHING.

Oh, wait ... that's what you just did, isn't it? Hmmmm ... that would mean

That would mean that the Democratic Party is full of idiots.

No, buffoon, that would mean that you possess the same qualities of mentation as the folks who placed the ad in question. There are more than enough idiots to go around ... neither side of the political spectrum lacks an ample supply.

Like a lot of shallow-minded people, you suffer from the "Bonanza Syndrome." Unable or incapable of grasping that the world is an incredibly complex place, they simplify it by believing that there are only good guys and bad guys ... white hats or black hats.

I guess I was wrong about your father wasting the money he spent on private schools for you ... doesn't appear that they had much to work with in the first place.

I love it when the half-wit plebeian masses critique my intellect.

It's no surprise you're a Democrat, PD -- you're just not bright enough to be a Libertarian.

See, there you go again ... your assumption that I'm not a libertarian is correct, but it's hardly because I lack the intellectual capacity to embrace it.

If it makes you feel better to think so, you go for it, girl! Glad to be of service; as a liberal, you must know that I am always sympathetic to the mentally challenged.

In spite of my plebian upbringing and humble public school education, I have read a book or two (most of them didn't even have pictures). There is much in libertarians rhetoric that appeals to me. Unfortunately, further investigation leads me to the conclusion that what passes for Liberatrian politics/philosophy in contemporary America is about as based in reality as Marxism.

Just out of curiousity, btw ... what, exactly does whether I'm bright enough to grasp Libertarian philosophy have to do with your contention that the ill-advised and idiotic actions of a couple of Florida Democrats somehow reflects badly on the entire Democratic party or on the left in general?

I can recall reading a number of articles over the years about various and sundry "Libertarians" who had fistfights at party meetings, or who were arrested on various charges ranging from gunrunning to drug dealing to who the fuck knows what.

IMHO, it would be patently stupid of me to point to those articles as "evidence" that all libertarians are criminal or violent. Apparently, according to you at least, that would be perfectly acceptable.

Again, buffoon ... puff yourself up all you want over how much daddy paid for your education. Seems to me the calculation of his ROI will require a 12-pack of red pens.

Oh I see where your idiocy sent you askew: you think I said something to the effect that "all democrats claim to be peaceful but are really violent."

In reality, all I said was "Peaceful Democrats Advocate Assassination of Rummy" and then posted the link.

So you ASSUMED I was making a sweeping generalization, but in reality I was just posting a story.

Clean up your act. Get your shit together. You're not a smart as you think you are.

Of course you weren't trying to make a generalization ... I just think it's funny how violent the left gets in their pursuit of peace.

As far as my intelligence, or lack of same - I should be hesitant to discuss it with anyone using the phrase "half-wit plebeian masses" on an internet BBS set up for the use of pornographers.

Your assumption that I am not "intelligent" enough to be a libertarian is just another example of the very narrow, very shallow mind you're operating with. Since I do not think like you I cannot be intelligent? And you call me a half-wit?

So I have to put a disclaimer "Note: not everyone in the left is violent" ???

Idiot.

We have enough Earth Liberation Front and PETA and rock-throwing morons at G7 summits and all that kind of stuff to know that the left gets violent. I don't need to specify the exact number of leftists who are willing to be violent as they propose peace in order for me to make the claim that the left is violent in their support of peace.

Got it, brainrocket?

You belong on GFY.

Buff, we have enough militias, cracker friendly groups and the KK on the right hand end of the scale to make up for it.

Don't use extremists to try to justify calling the rest of the people violent or agressive.

Buff, two threads in a row where you start from a reasonable premise and end up crashed in the ditch of your own ignorance and preconceptions.

Okay, I get it ... it's fair for me to characterize the right as violent as well? After all, you've got Oklahoma City, the murder of doctors, cops and state troopers in a number of states - all killed by miscellaneous idiots on the right.

As far as who belongs on GFY ... a GFYer is likely to resort to calling someone he disagrees with such terms as "bitch" and "pussy", both of which are words you've pulled out of that private school vocabulary of yours in reference to me very recently.

GFY is where I expect to find the rocket scientists who conclude that "anyone who doesn't think like me" lacks intelligence.

Once again, I guess we're just going to have to disagree.

I think the right is more violent than the left. The left has more women, gays, and pacifists in general. I think the right has a better opinion of the military and sports like rugby, football, and boxing than the left. The left is a bunch of soccer-playing homosexuals who would rather surrender to the enemy than eat bagels with cream-cheese (and if you know how much they like bagels, that's saying a lot).

PD, you're a bitch.
