View Full Version : Trademarked Domains

I use to be a partner in a popular offshore casino/sportsbook until the crooked owners screwed me. Now I'm in the process of suing and I happen to own the .net & .org versions of the trademarked site name (trademarked without the .com). I offered to hand these domains over as part of a settlement offer but their position is that they won't pay a dime for them as they could easily obtain them via legal means, "a slam-dunk" they said.

My question is: Is it so easy for a company to obtain the .net & .org versions of a trademarked site name? My thinking is that this is nothing more than a bargaining tactic but I really don't know.

If anyone has any articles or links to articles with information on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

thanks.

Yes, it'll take them a little time but if the name is copywrited they shouldnt have a problem getting those from you.

You can transfer it around and change the whois info frequently if you feel like being a jerk about it to piss off your former partners.

Also, be careful when you go to Canada. I was duped into going to Montreal and live there for 6 months. When I got there I saw everything was in French. I didn't get the memo about that....lol
