Do NOT drive by a Pikes or Walmart garden center on a pretty spring day.
:(

I now have 14 phlox, 8 day lilies, 6 azaleas, 40 pounds of sand and 800 pounds of top soil. And most of my property is wild woods! I already have flower bulbs planted in just about every available space.

And I still want to get some periwinkles :)

(note: I am NOT attempting to do morning glories this year - all died a sad and painful death.......)

When I finally get around to painting my room, at least 1 of the walls will be Periwinkle :) (I'm trying to paint each wall in the house a different color but meeting resistance from the interior designer SIL...... )

Still too early for me yet here on the prarie ... supposed to get down into the 20s tomorrow night. We're going to double the tomato crop this year (one can NEVER have enough fresh tomatos), in addition to adding some more flowers. Also gotta get a couple of trees, since I had to take out a couple of dead ones.

Yeah, we're supposed to get into the 30's this week, so I haven't bought my 'mater plants either. There is NOTHING like walking outside and getting a warm fresh tomato off the vine :inlove:

Wig's going to put in a row of okra for me since with all my trees, my veggies have to be on the porch and 2-3 okra plants don't exactly produce a meal's worth :awinky:

hahaha Mike, I knew my name would come up sooner or later when I saw this thread... ;)

Actually, while my houseplants are doing great and the lawn is tight, my plants outside have really had a tough time of it. I have not had much luck at all with them. I'm going to try something new this year, and hopefully get them going...

My bulbs are being eaten :( I planted about 100 more bulbs in the fall and the daffodils were OK and some new tulips, but all my "low ground" small bulbs (crocus and 2 other things I can't remember) are gone. About 3/4 of the lilies I planted are gone as are all the gladiolas.

I see a lot of the phlox around town so I'm hoping that means the critters leave it alone. :P

Now if I could just get my rhodedendrons to bloom.

Thankfully I have the stuff in the woods - dogwoods, wild azaleas, ferns, mountain laurel, etc. :)
