Business wise, pretty much all of the boards are dead. Some gets done now and again, but pretty much it is relax time to trade stories and BS about politics, the weather, announce births, weddings, etc. If anyone from 1997 or 98 teleported to this future, they would surely be VERY disappointed by what they see.

Taken as a break during the day, no chat board is bad. As a business choice (for webmasters and sponsors) I think the boards as a whole are very over rated.

I don't know what anyone else is doing but I just don't understand whenever anyone says this. There are countless times in the past year when I've done business with someone I've "met" through a board.

To tell you the truth, MOST of our business exists because of the boards.

Also, there is a LOT of information to be gleaned from the boards in between all the water cooler talk. Lots of gems out there.
