How many of you have tattoos? I want to get one once I get out of basic and I know exactly what I want. I've wanted it pretty much once I knew I was going into the service. I recently went to a meeting where there were 3 people recently out of basic and training school and all had gotten a tattoo after basic. Just wondering if it's some sort of ritual thing?

None here either ... although many of the guys I knew got them out right out of basic, or during/after their first cruise.

I have one, but it has no ties to being in the army (except I took it drunk while in army) :)
No regrets though.

Yup. I have two tattoos from my time in the military. On my left arm I have a Marine Corps bulldog with USMC underneath. :salute: On my right arm a clipper ship under sail in a storm cause I've been sailing since I was a little kid.

My Grandfather on my Dad's side was in the Navy and had a tattoo of a ship with "US Navy" under it. He was the only person we EVER knew as kids who had a tattoo and we thought it was so cool, lol! Poor guy - I can just imagine how it must feel to have your grandkids come running up to you, "Show us your tattoo again, Pappy!". :P

I don't think I knew anyone else with a tattoo until I was in my late 20's or maybe even 30's. I've led such a sheltered life. :(

I was thinking more along the lines of a rainbow from one ass cheek to the other. Then when I'm getting fucked in the ass, hum "Over the rainbow" from Wizard of Oz.

Gonzo will be mad that you copied him.

What do you want to get and where do you want to get it?

I will not mock. I take glee in thinking about the torrents of pain that a tattoo newbie will soon discover, knowing size and placement gives me an idea of just how much pain. I wish I could watch. There is nothing like watching the look on someones face for the first 30 seconds of their first tattoo. Esp if they think they are a hard ass, its a humbling experience.

I take that back. I will mock you if you say its a taz tattoo or anything tribal.

5 years Navy

Got my first one after I put on 3rd Class - After 5 whole months in the Navy.

One very drunken Sunday in TJ...

I dated lots of marines - mmm have a degree in marine biology. They all had one - to identify the body in case their heads got blown off. Got to love that Marine mentality. OUHHH RAWWW!!!

It depends on what you are doing in the military, if you have hopes of doing any kind of special ops stuff don't even think about it.

Remember its something you will have for the rest of your life.

Okay way too much Mommy advice for this early in the am.

mmmm Marines.... Now that I've gotten rid of the punk 24 yo husband maybe I need to go back to Marines.... Olive Green still makes .......... opps T.I.M

Have a good morning and good luck.

No tatoos here after just shy of 15 years service.

The only "tradition" I know of about tatoos in the military is that member's of the Airborne Regiment all get a small parachute tatoo'd to their hand between the thumb and fore-finger. Like a jail tatoo, but not.

My records were kept at NAS Alameda, but I was stationed over at a JTF with the USCG.

Funny how life does turn out. :)

Dan -

Every girl has a line in the sand.

I don't do anything that comes with the title "Former"

Way too long in the porn biz.

Anthony- Tanker was active duty when he started in the biz.

I at least finished my degree before getting into it but then there wasn't much of an internet then.

How long did you wait before going porn!!

By the way any young person going in should go Airborne.

If the army national guard counts, I didn't get a tattoo until about a year after I got back from basic and ait. But its not related to the military.

I'm thinking of getting another one but just don't know what I want yet.

25 years in the Army---no tats; over the years, I've heard many regrets from folks who got them during their youth who are now VERY sorry they did so.
