I asked my Dad today. Word is no, Greece didn't join in invading Iraq. They are good terms with the middle east.

If your Dad was a terrorist do you really think he wouldnt find the Athens Olympics the most appealing target in the next 12 months?

Although after the Spanish election I bet some terrorists would prefer to blow up a few American trains on the eve of Bushes re-election (not that I think Americans would wimp out like traitor dogs as the Spanish have done)

I do not think they will need too...

Part of the terror is that we should know it is there, but should not know when it will happen. This Olympics will probably have so much security that every TV reporter will remind the viewers about it atleast once every hour... should give us enough fear and headlines, so the terrorists will not need to blow anything up...

I would be more concerned with just before the Olympics - any terror event in the europe doing that time will remind us that the donkey riding terrorist *might* hit Greece during the Olympics...

Meni, your dad is not up on history.

Terrorists have attack the Olympic games before. It was in Germany and they attacked the athletes from Israel.

Therefore history shows that arab terrorists will attack Olympic games not based on who is hosting, but the actual athletes participating. With US, UK, Aussie, Spanish, and other Olympic teams playing at the games it is still a large target.

Also note, terrorists are the lowest of the low - they kill innocent women, children - they do not follow any rules at all. So any and every target is open.

I was about to post the same thing Mike - historically, terrorists have proven that they couldn't give 2 shits about the host country when it comes to acting against the Olympics - sad, but true.... And somehow I just don't think any of the bomb-wearing Islamic fundamentalist types will even say "Oh wait a minute, Ibn-Al-Farazif, we can't attack Greece!"

I get the feeling they don't like ANYONE...

The largest terrorist action in history was committed by us. See
http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/2WWdresden.htm
Dresden was a city with no particular military value and was undefended. We incinerated arguably a 100 thousand people. Men, women children, ministers, priests, doctors, pregnant women, babies, lunatics, old men.
Menachin Begin was a "terrorst". Was he also the lowest of the low? Were we the lowest of the low. Does that mean we still are?

One man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter. It just depends on which side of the fence you sit.

J'dude you are so boring and predictible its almost criminal!

Why don't you go back to the "first use of WMD" when the British gave blankets infected with small pox to indians attacking the fort ?

Or even Christopher Columbus? What about the rest of the Spanish explorers?

I bet we could come up with other examples older then this. The Romans were not to nice to Carthage or any other enemy.

The Greeks were just as bad.

We can also look at what the Moors and Muslims did back during the day.

It is difficult to justify the fire bombing of Dresdin. It was all out war, a World War - the leaders had to make the decisions back them.

We are dealing with a modern war now.... It would be easy to wipe out our enemies like the Romans used to do. This is the only proven way to keep people from coming back and causing trouble. Fortunately for our enemies these tactics are now frowned upon, and would violate OUR sensibilities.

But if there was ever a major strike on the US which involved WMD, and tend of thousands of deaths - I could see the US lashing out like the Romans did with Carthage.

Actually what is more to the point is the predictablility of you right wing ramblings and ravings from behind the compound wall. IMHO that is bordering on the criminal. But you have a forum in which you can say what you like with impunity. You lie about my postings and when I ask for proof, you ignore. An old Nixon tactic. It is this atitude that got Bush elected and all of us in the shit we haven't even seen yet. What is predictable, is that when you post bs, I will point it out. I assume you would feel that is criminal. You still have not come close to quoting my reference to having tea with the royals or flying in AF2 or whatever the hell rant you were frothing at the time. The difference between me and you is that I don't lie and you have to to sell product.

HAHA J'moron I do not have the time to go and search your posts. The people who hang here regularly know the statements you made about President's and Secretary of State, and all the other silly stuff you post.

You can go to our search function and see for yourself.

You do not interest me enough to waste my time looking up your posts.

Nice try. Is it a full moon yet? Lunacy is something you are suffering from...

Hell, you even lie about your honesty. Here is what you said about me:

"What did your friend the former President and Secretary of State say about this situation?"

I have never said I had a former President for a friend nor a Secretary of State.

You did and it is a lie. I have asked you time and again to apologize for lying about my postings. There have been other incidents. This is just the most recent.

It gets so boring trying to make a point with someone who dodges the bullet for days.

And your ramblings about European support for the war in Iraq. They knew there was no WMD there. Live with the fact you and your President Cheney were wrong again. Get it out of your system. You will feel better and drink French wine without guilt and maybe even sell that freekin old man escalade you drive and get out in the world. You are old before your time Mike.

Everyone thought Saddam had WMD.... All European leaders, their intelligence services, the UN, Hans Blitz, etc...

Even Saddam thought he had WMD ( and he could very well had, and its in Syria now)

We know for a fact Iraq had missles that were violating UN resolutions - he fired them off during the war!

J'knownothing, I am sure you are the only person alive who KNEW Iraq had no WMD. Should have called your "friends" the former President and Sec of State!

That was a foul ball Mike. I never claimed to know any of those people. I did work with them, however. Now please apologize because there was nothing megalomaniacle about those postings. It is just something I did. Now, I think what is eating your shorts is the fact that all you do is flaunt your "wealth" (pics of cars etc) to pitch the traffic rats. Fine it is a buisness plan. Like that Chinese guy that pitched his real estate scams on Rollers with plastic women. Up to you how you do it. These guys eat up the give away cheap "home theatre" baubles.
I have no problem with that. It is only when you step into the world of pontification about something of which you know very little that I get on your case, because that is when guys like you become dangerous. You got lucky and made some money and now think your opinion is worth the dollar value of your bank account. Sorry it doesn't work that way. Hell you didn't even have the balls to answer my question when I asked you which European countries did not support you on your stand on terrorism.
You see, Mike, you guys are dangerous. You are walking America through the world just asking to get your asses kicked. It happens frequently and folks die.
That is what I find disgusting. Damn if you would just cruise around your gated community listening to Nirvana, play a little whack fuck, you could do no harm, but when you splash uniformed drivel all over the net, someone has to point it out.

Mike AI

Do you really see me scounging for business on Oprano or any other board? I post my cars when people ask to see photos. I do not need to flaunt anything, I am comfortable with who I am.

As far as talking about things I am not knowedgable about you forget I have my undergraduate degree in International Studies. My major professor who oversaw the program and my thesis was one of the top in the State Department for years. He personally oversaw and negotiated the treaty between the Turks and Greeks over Cyprus.

Foreign policy is a passion for me. I continue reading and studying both current events and historical events.

As far as "you guys" being dangerous, I am not sure what you mean. Unlike you I have never consulted or worked with a President or Sec of State. No one calls me and asks my opinion. However, I think my opinion and view are pretty well represented in the Bush administration.

The ass kicking thing.... that is absurd. The US military could take on the next 2 military powers below us ( China? Russia? India?) at the same time and destroy them in a non-nuclear war. Just because we can does not mean we want to. The United States has other ways to influence the world.... our businesses and pop culture are infiltrating everywhere.

I will put my knowledge on foreign policy, history, economics, political science against yours anyday. Again, I think even PD and other liberals would say I am informed - they may not like my OPINIONS and STANCES on certain issues, but they would not say I was "uninformed".

You are a unknown, mousy, habitual liar who lives in a fantasy land. You even refuse to answer the question I asked a few months ago.

Mike dont get me started on Cyprus
Fuck Turkey

Even Saddam thought he had WMD ( and he could very well had, and its in Syria now)

We know for a fact Iraq had missles that were violating UN resolutions - he fired them off during the war!

J'knownothing, I am sure you are the only person alive who KNEW Iraq had no WMD. Should have called your "friends" the former President and Sec of State!

:zoinks:
That is so presumptive. Surely you saw Colin Powell's performance at the UN. I thought the highlight of US bullshit was when they tried to say a three foot drone was a wmd because it could spread biological weapons. There was no wmd just smoke and mirrors. BTW, if you are the umpire, you gotta have an eye, because you can't see a strike and I am pitching. But its your forum and your rules. That is what is scarey. When rednecks run media outlets, we all suffer. I wasn't the only person alive who thought Saddam was blowing smoke. Millions were marching around the world. Whole countries wouldn't support your half wit president in his Pax Americana....now that is megalomania, Mike...not what I post. In fact you were in the minority my friend. You gotta stop getting all your information from Fox, USA Today, and CNN. Everything you post I have seen on CNN. Now that is what they call transparency. Stick to moving traffic which is what you are good at and you can do no damage. Drive your new Shelby really fast and have beers later in your Escalade, then retire to the pool and drink whatever plonk Serge is pitching lately. I am sure you guys have a fine life in Pleasantville. Then the only dangerous weapon you will possess is a vote and the rest of the world will just have to hope you guys come to your senses soon.

Can't we fix up a board just for J'screature and grogan?

Todd is the designer, but I'm envisioning a simple table in yellow.

Not a very tall table, though ...

We couild then put them on the short yellow board.

I think Meni is just frustrated by the Howard Stern stuff.... he is a devoted fan.

I still think he is wrong about Bush trying to censor Stern though. Bush lives in a kind of bubble, he is a retard when it comes to popular culture. I doubt he could pick Stern out of a lineup.

Bush gets serious reports on the war on terror, iraq, nuclear proliferation, the economy these are the issues that Bush is focused on. Imagine the amount of information he must see that we will never know about. To think he is worried about a radio DJ.... it is absurd.

I think the same goes with gay marriages. If some activist judges, and kooky mayors would not have made it an issue by shoving it into peoples faces, Bush would not have done anything. Once they pushed the issue they forced Bush's hand. You could see that he was not gung ho about the Marriage Amendment... We have brave men commited to combat oveseas, we have terrorist always working and attacking our interests and our allies.... these are the things that Bush is concerned with.

Yes Michael, tell me - exactly WHICH European countries didn't support YOU on YOUR stand on terrorism? Oh, and congrats for being put "IN CHARGE" - I had no idea you were now the ruler of the free world - or did I take that out of context, J'Sdouchebag?

Is Howard Stern passing this drivel down to you? Or are you parroting moveon.org people?

I know you are worked up about Stern, I would bet my bottom dollar Bush has nothing to do with it. It is nice to blame the President for everything, but it is generally not the case.

I expect more from you Meni, you are a bright guy, try some critical thinking on your own instead of regurgitating the same lame accusations from others.

Bottom line is Bush is strong on Defense, and right now that is ALL I care about. We at war. One that will continue for some time. We can try to hide from it, but it will only cause more innocent deaths in the long worng - more deaths of fellow Americans.

we should just give terrorists everything they ask for and stop bothering them so they will stop hurting people.

We should invade and occupy Greece to provide the level of protection to the Olympics that we have to the citizens of Baghdad.

Sometimes I read these conversations and think someone needs to invade and occupy the US

That's part of the conspiracy, you know ... back in the late 1960s there was a Rush Limbaugh/Pat Robertson precursor radio preacher by the name of Billy Hargus (?) who concluded that sugar-free soft drinks were designed to weaken American youth and make us vulnerable to an invasion by Chinese troops that were hidden on the Mexican border.

I am not making that up, either.

Thats funny. I was also lectured in Russia once by a very serious and concerned group of people about Coca Cola and how it is part of an American conspiracy to make the world impotent. That idea probably had the same origins.

The problem I see here, Mike, is that J'sCORNHOLE just loves - I mean LOVES to argue back and forth about the SEMANTICS and CONTEXT in which words are used on a webmaster board.

So some turnabout is fair play I think. He said this about you:
Hell you didn't even have the balls to answer my question when I asked you which European countries did not support you on your stand on terrorism.

Yes Michael, tell me - exactly WHICH European countries didn't support YOU on YOUR stand on terrorism? Oh, and congrats for being put "IN CHARGE" - I had no idea you were now the ruler of the free world - or did I take that out of context, J'Sdouchebag?

Ease up and stop taking yourself and the rest of the world so goddamn seriously.... You are ONLY all-important to yourself....
:butt:
Semantics had nothing to do with the question....duh. Now go do some traffic managing or whatever it is you do for a living and at least learn how to insult with integrity instead of stupidity.

BTW, the question was never answered. I think the silence speaks volumes.
DUH right back at YOU, retard. Here YOU go making up shit about MY statments and their use.

I said you love to argue about semantics and context of messages on this board, I didn't say ANYTHING about the semantics of the question you'd posed to Mike.

I have found more integrity clinging to the hairs around my asshole than you have in you entire being. You are the one who has been owned.

Go ahead - chime in - I'm itching for a reason to purge your account from the board and banning your ip range.

Just do it. Like I would care. Imagine being banned...in fact a whole ip range nuked...by a guy that can't tell the difference between am and pm. A guy who actually plays with the hair on his asshole for fun. Man you are thick as two short planks. Banned by Oprano...it has a certain je ne sais quoi. Makes you look like an idiot. But hey what would I know about semantics. Dialectics maybe, but that is well beyond your ken. Edd is it?

Everything is relatively. Greece didn't send troops, but let USA to use their air base in Creta island (Souda city). It's the only american base left in mediterranean and for sure the largest. It was one of the first things the american govt wanted to secure before declaring the war.

Back to the question:

Will arab terrorists hit Greece during the Olympics?

Terrorists do not have the same reasoning with us, I doubt they have any, thus I don't believe what Greece did or not is an important factor for them to consider. Definitely an attack during the Olympic Games would spread world panic like nothing else. On the other hand it's gonna be very risky. Personally I don't think Al Queda or another relative group will take such risk. This shitheads don't risk their position, that's why fighting this level of terrorist is like shooting in the air.

My guess is if they're going to hit Athens it will be done before the Olympic Games (as already said here) or they'll launch an attack in another european city or US state, where the security levels will be much lower, during this event.
