Got pulled over a few weeks ago at 32 mph over the speed limit. Didn't have my registration in my car either. Why do they make a big deal about me having to produce a copy of the registration? Seems to me that they should just be able to look it up. Is this just part of my "punishment"?

Why would I get legal help for a $170 ticket and 4 points?

In GA, if you've been clean for a while, you can go to court and get the amount lowered. This usually saves you $$$$ on your insurance.

If FL says you have to have a copy of your registration in the car, then it doesn't matter if they SHOULD just be able to look it up or not :awinky: We don't have that law in GA, but I got nailed in NJ for not having it for a car I always drove in GA. :( I talked them out of a ticket though. :)

At this point, I'd rather have 4 points than go spend time in traffic clinic. If I get another one before the end of the summer, I'll have 11 though. Then you'll see me there ;-)

Agreed, and I didn't have mine in the car, Understood. I'll pay my $5 fine.

But what I'm saying is that I now have to get a copy and mail it to them to prove that I do have a copy. But they could know that I have the car registered in seconds.

Don't get me started Colin. The fucking LAPD at LAX are generating enough revenue off stupid tickets to outproduce the GNP of most third world countries if my morning was any indication...

How many tickets have you gotten so far in LA ???

Ever see the turn lane problems I mentioned to you the other week? LA is very backwards....

Damn CA is the worst for tickets. I got one for running a red light (it was yellow) in San Franciso. $300+! :zoinks:
