Nice looking bird..
Can you teach that type of bird to talk?

When I was a kid we used to have a parrot... its all it would say is hello!
You'd walk in the room and it would start in "Hello.. hello.. hello.. hello..." I wanted to strangle it lol

I'm not super familiar with Quaker Parrots, but I used to raise a couple different kinds of birds.

Conures: some of the most colorful (non-talking usually) birds there are - however, their squawks & screeches could deafen anyone

Blue Front Amazon: beautiful parrot with patch of blue on forehead - good talkers

Double Yellowhead - INCREDIBLE talkers - one I had for years could mimic everyone's voice in our household, as well as whistle the tune to the Andy Griffith Show perfectly.

African Grey: great talkers, but little shits can be mean as hell - really need to get as ugly little babies and hand-feed them to be able to handle them later without getting a finger bitten off.

Thanx Snoops :)

He/she/it (I have no clue how to tell, but the bird vet...she makes house calls, how cool is that...will be able to tell me) is supposedly 3 years old. I do not know if he knows any words yet. He does know how to sqwauk, He likes to hang out on top of his cage and he loves carrots and peanuts. That is what we know so far :)

He let me rub his feathers today and only made a half hearted effort to bite me. lololol...It's like having another kid so far. Much more entertaining than the TV.

Jen is my wife, the owner and designer of the Paper Jewels that I drag around in my tag line. She is usually too busy designing her Jewelry (she is currently working with a lot of stones and silver stuff) or working on the web site (she is working on new pages throughout the site, new photography and a wholesale version) and working the Jewelry boards and message groups to post here :)

I am dubious of birds as pets....

My parents have a few parots, and none of them liked me.

Give me a dog anyday.

AWWWW!!! I love him! (or her)

I would absolutely love a bird but with smoke and teflon in the house, I don't dare. :(
(Although to date I've never let my teflon get so hot being unattended that it started putting off toxic fumes...)
