View Full Version : Thanks Clear Channel
The country is going to hell
Clear Channel just fired a local dj here in Tampa called Bubba The Love Sponge. He's the shock jock type like Howard Stern. I actually enjoyed listening to his show on the way to the office!
They did this only after the FCC proposed finning clear channel for $715k
which was the largest ever proposed fine for indecency!
Go figure!

Clearchannel is doing what they think is best for their company.
One thing I think that is dangerous is having one company own so many stations. It does limit choice.
The internet will soon help with this.
I read that Stern was blaming Jackson's halftime escapades for his show being yanked.
Seems to me kind of reactionary.

from what i read of the transcript of the show... i think they would have been right to fine them. do you think the FCC just spun a massive roulette wheel to decide who to fuck with that day? or is it possible... just possible... that maybe... i am only saying maybe... had a reason?
NO ONE can possibly make the arguement that there is NOT 100's of Howard Stern wannabe's pushing the limits in every way possible, all over the country. if that is true... then why is it unreasonable to expect a reaction by companies and the FCC to try to curb this behavior?
