Serge, i've done a little research on abortion & women in the past and feel very confident that your sweeping statement is very inaccurate

*most* women, as in more than half, are anti-abortion for themselves but pro choice for others - its politically correct.

the women you impregnated must have been concerned about whether they would get child support payments that weren't shaved :P

The last thing this world needs is more people who think abortion is a way out of an undesirable situation.

We are being overrun by morons. You can see it in every facet of life. What is worse then being merely morons, is many of these people cannot support themselves and are on some kind handout.

I think Abortion could be a tool to solve some of these problems.

That is the problem with abortion is it is not used enough......

Most people should not be having kids. But the reality is the DUMB people who are pulling civilization down and have nothing to contribute are the ones having kids by the dozen. Most are probably illegitimate... thus the cycle continues!

Abortion should also be employed outside of the womb - and maybe should be extended to cover morons of ALL ages, not just those who happen to still inside the mother.

Hell I would ever be happy if some of my tax money went for these post-birth abortions!

Maybe I should start making a list....

First - I don't have a uterus so it's not really my choice nor does my opinion matter

Second - I am Pro-Family, that being said it must be a FAMILY.
One of the few things Bill Clinton said I agree with is it would be a better world if there was a loving home for every unwanted child

Third - Abortion should be safe, legal (and free in cases of low income mothers who desire one, pay for the abortion rather that spend 30K+ per year on incarceration later).
I can't say welfare mothers should be FORCED to have abortions but they should be encouraged to do so by financial means

Until you have adopted unwanted crack babies or an unwanted child or a child that would be born into bad circumstances your stance against abortion is lip service and absolute bullshit

(I have personally paid dearly for my beliefs, yes the courage of my convictions came at a high price)

I'm the son of a Catholic father who was one of seven children, and of a catholic mother who was one of 21 children (all single births and same mother--and father(?)); I'm pro-abortion totally.

As soon as my ex-wife and I had a daughter followed by a son, I got the vasectomy--infact, while driving home from the Army Hospital after the 1969 procedure and noticing a lot of people going into that Catholic Chapel at noontime, I realized that I had it on Dec 8th, the feastday of the Immaculate Conception.

I've now been divorced for 18+ years, and am now an Agnostic:-)))

I believe a woman should have the right to abort, but it still sickens me. Whether the law acknowledges it or not, you are killing an innocent human life. Saying that, i would never expect any woman to go through with an unwanted pregnancy. I think some women should have their tubes tied, though. I knew this girl; 17 years old and she had already had 4 or 5 abortions. Disturbing.

YOU are the reason I voted pro-abortion, normally I'd be pro-choice.

Someone made the comment that it was killing an innocent baby or something along those lines. If you take that "innocent baby" out of the womb at 16 weeks and see if it can breathe on its own, much less eat or relieve itself of bodily waste, there is no argument I can see for calling it an innocent baby when it's nowhere near that in its state of development.

Once you get to that borderline state, then you have a whole other set of issues to deal with.

Thats the good thing about abortion, love it, hate it, you can almost always argue both sides with the same argument if you let enough time pass in the pregnancy ;)

Interesting terms. Pro-life. Pro-choice. Brilliant marketing.

I think the pro-lifers have a slightly better argument but I'm still pro-abortion. It's more consistent with my libertarian contruct.

"A woman's right to do what she wants with her body". That's really brilliant and of course, in our system of laws no one has a right to do what they want to with their body. Why anyone would make an exception for this rather than something else is well, it's all marketing and we know it.

First off, this is Oprano. Most of the ladies here are intelligent enough to protect themselves against getting pregnant if they dont want a baby. So I doubt the percentage who have had abortions is very high.

As for me, not pro-choice, definitely pro-abortion... I think you should be able to abort 'em right up to the point that they graduate, get a job and move out of the house. In fact, if they're making noise and being disruptive at a restaurant or during a movie, I think you should be able to abort someone else's child too....

I believe in pro-choice and I believe there are times when abortion is the only answer; however it’s a delicate matter. On one hand I think a woman should have a baby and if she didn’t want it give it up for adoption but I know that any route she chooses it’s a difficult choice. Then I think about all the kids out there that aren’t adopted and then you look at people who adopt with ill-intent.

Here’s what I think…

When a girl comes to age where she can get pregnant she if taken to the doctor and a birth control implant is put in her. No exceptions. Once she feels she is ready to conceive she goes through a series of interviews and a few workshops, maybe volunteers at a child care facility. After some real thought the implant is removed. I think this would curtail many problems and there’s no issue of abortion, welfare abuse, etc.

yeah thats a good idea.
Then we could also decide that she doesnt meet a minimum income, or maybe shes ugly, or fat, or the wrong race (we dont want them people propagating now do we).

The extreme end of your argument would be the first thing brought up if this was ever even remotely considered as a potential law.

cutting one's hairs - requires LICENSE
Driving - requires License
picking up garbage - requires Lecense

having children is NOT. The most important function in the society, bringing new life, does not require MINIMUM knowledge every other function in the society requires.

What's wrong with this picture?

cutting hair doesn't REQUIRE a license, it's just smart. Anyone can cut your hair if you let them. The license is supposed to represent the trusted opinion of an outside 3rd party
Driving license is a tax.......thats it. Oh sure they make you pass a test, but only to make you feel better about it.
I can take my trash to the landfill in the back of my truck if I so choose.... Which i do not

requiring a license to propagate the species is way to Orwellian for the vast majority of people in the world.

Its very concept is the height of arrogance

ahhhhhhhhh nope not a real education by any stretch
but you could educate me specifically on the three examples listed. Never hurts to learn more
Here is my view
If you desire to cut hair commercially then you need a lisence..... not commercially then go for it
Driving a car.......Drivers licenses were originally instituted in the US as a means of generating tax revenue for the states.......you weren't always required to have either a license plate or a DL until it was realized what a tax benefit it could have on a state level. As time passed DLs were considered a way of making life safer in the US so the tests were instituted. Public safety, but the underlying motivation from the beginning was revenue for the states, thats why there is no standardize test for it. No federal DLs yet
Taking out the trash.........same as cutting hair. If you want to do it commercially...........well then..........
I will agree, if someone wishes to produce children commercially, they should be licensed and inspected on a regular basis, so you win the argument as far as kiddies go

LMAO Hellpuppy - between this and the raging mommy hormones comment I think I might've pulled something :awinky:

Btw, just for statistical info, I've never had an abortion. I've gotten pregnant 3 times and have 2 kids, awaiting the outcome of the third.
And I was very much pro-choice until the moment I realized I was pregnant the first time - which was about 10 minutes after the sex that caused it. :)

That's in *your* opinion. And I think the same thing about some people, but you never know what will happen.
Many people thought Einstein was a worthless idiot and a waste of skin. There's tons of examples for both sides of the argument.

The thing is, though - you never know what a difference one person will make or what will become of them. People raised in the most horrible of conditions have gone on to be incredibly successful, leaders of the people, or inspirations to others, etc etc.
You just never know.

I am pro sex !!! and lot's of it !!!

Can not take the pill..makes me tired or nuts (even more than now..lol)

and by looking at me I get pregnant.. had 3 abortions since age 18...

and yes my own fault I use those counting methods ... you have green days and red days and egg days.... I alwasy get horny on the red days....

no regrets and no shame. It is my body and I was and am not ready to be a good mother !

Respect to those who decide different ... I think I rather adopt a child than have one..

am scared for the giving birth part... :(

I love kids though & love to shop for them ! the baby clothes are sooo cute .. so I cuddle with my friends baby once in a while and I have my little doggy she thinks she is my baby....

Kids are great but I feel that you have to put your kids before your own needs and I could not be a part time mother... So I decide not to have one.. at least for the comming 10 years LOL

but if I impregnate a girl, she'd better.....unless she has a really rich daddy or something
If you can't take responsibility for your wad, please leave it in your sack.

The last thing this world needs is more people who think abortion is a way out of an undesirable situation.
Bingo!! And that's why I have the stand on the issue that I do!! Whether you're a guy or a girl when you have sex you better be prepared for the resulting consequences.
yes but mistakes happen ... why should you have to pay for it for the rest of your life? more importantly, why should the child have to pay for it for the rest of its life?

sometimes, its just the right thing to do ... and sometimes its the easy way out

Yes, mistakes do happen and that is where responsibility comes in. Adoption or suck it up and make changes to your life to accomodate having a child.

There are so many ways to prevent pregnancy nowadays unexpected births should be MUCH lower than they actually are.

enforcer, we eat meat like baby cows and baby chickens.... they already developped more brain than the little 6 weeks eggs when you get pregnant...

And believe me no woman wants to get pregnant and have an abortion. It's not a nice feeling and the hormons the body starts producing have to get normal again....

Let me know when the pill is available - I'll make hubby take it LOL

Pro choice & pro abortion...

I do think some people are a bit too retarded to make thier own choices however....we see that every day in certain governments ;-)

There isn't much difference between a 16week and a new born. Both are TOTALLY dependent on the parent to live.

I'm personally for pro-choice. However, I disagree with abortion being used as a means for birth control. Especially when there are so many safe methods available to men and women. If a woman is using abortion as a means of birthcontrol purely because she and her mate are to damn lazy to cover the stump or take a pill, she should be sterilized after her second abortion. Problem solved...the dumb people can't have kids anymore.
