Cretins, their whining put more money in Mel Gibson pocket than if they either ignored the movie or asked EVERYBODY to go and watch it...

I am ashamed by how easy they were conned by Gibson....
idiots...

it pisses me off how those "Jewish leaders" created more publicity than Gibson could have bought.

America Jewery suffered the LEAST and whines like if they suffered the most!

There is a good russian proverb:

this is exactly what they are doing

It's a love or hate it movie from what I've seen. Ebert and Roper went gaga over it, but I've seen others pan it.

As always, whenever you protest against something, it's human nature for everyone else to rush to see what the fuss is about.

I doubt I'll see it in the theater, but I will watch it on DVD. Here in Atlanta churches have bought out the theaters and offering it free for whomever walks up. And even my little theater is showing it during times they're usually closed.

when I am asked what I think of the movie my standard response is:
Gibson portrayed Jews as capable of putting Son of God on the cross.
Can you imagine what Jews can do with mortals?
VERY powerful people- go see the movie and don't fuck with Jews.

If American "Jewish Leaders" had 1/2 the brain and BEGGED everybody watch it,
I doubt we'd be even talk about it by now
;-))))

One thing pointed out by a reviewer:

It was prophesied that Jesus would die.
It is written in the Bible that Jesus was put on this earth to die.
Jesus said throughout his life that he would die.
Jesus lived in a Jewish society.

Who exactly do the believers think was supposed to kill him? Aliens?

We only have one small Catholic church in this whole area (and I think it caters mostly to the Mexicans) and a Baptist church on literally every corner and the showings at our local theater are sold out. :)

The local "regular" theater is also $5 admission for adult. :) But it's small - only two screens, so usually movies are only shown for a week so they can get all the new releases in. But I love that little theater. They have the old vinyl "bouncy" seats and if you're a few minutes late, there's usually no one at the window because he has to start the projectors, so you just leave your money there. :awinky:

Unfortunately they're building a new megascreen theater which will more than likely put the little one out of business :(

I wonder what would happen in this day and age if someone came out and said "I'm the son of God! I'm here to die for YOUR sins"?

Probably not much different then they reacted when Jesus and his 12 wiseguys were spreading the word of love, happiness and peace on earth

I heard on the radio by our local Dallas movie critic.. that the movie is so violent.. that he was actually queazy and could not understand what parents in their right mind would allow thier young kids to see such hideous violence.. He also wondered how it didn't get an NC-17 rating...

wonder if the anti-movie violence Christian groups that protest Quentin Tarintino films will protest this movie as well... hipocrasy is inevitable...

Well, a crucifiction isn't exactly a walk through the park with rainbows in the sky and cherubs singing songs of joy....

This movie wasn't exactly made to be lighthearted entertainment for the whole family, Mel Gibson wanted to drive home the pain and anguish and from what I hear, he did...with a sledgehammer...

if history repeats itself (as we have all seen from wars to fashion trends), then why they hell haven't we seen another "jesus"?

i do not doubt this person existed, and i do not doubt that this person made sacrafices (as it is written to some extent). i am just wondering why, after thousands of years, have we (as a world society) not seen either a "second coming" of christ or a person who carries the complete traits, faiths and sacrafices as this person who is said to have died for all of our sins.

i am not a religious person, i dont go to church, i dont believe that a higher power has predetermined my path in life. i do believe this person existed (to what extent remains to be seen and that will never happen) and i am one who has watched history repeat itself (even though i am in my early 30's); therefore, i would think that this person or a person similar would exist once again.

i am a "show me the proof type of person". i dont see it, then it doesnt exist (perse).

I realize it’s just a movie and ordinarily I would simply view it as such regardless of the content, however this is something I can’t support and even talking about it keeps it alive. I can’t support anything that attacks a race like that and I actually have a tremendous amount of respect for the Jews. If it wasn’t such a media show, obviously pushing a religious or political agenda, maybe I’d feel different. After all everyone is entitled to an opinion.

True
but perhaps the only way to crete a lasting impact in to show the brutality of what happened

To me, the crucifiction wasn't so much about persecuting a religious figure as much as it was about destroying something or someone who would suggest a change the "right" way of thinking. An unkindess to new ideas.

Maybe this sheer brutality will send a lasting message of persecution, be it religious, race or otherwise.

I've always wondered if the toning down of violence in that context did more harm than good...

example: a cop show on television shows someone being shot and the shooter (and camera) just looks away. Does that have as much impact as us the viewers having to watch the person being shot fall to the ground and go hrough death throes? If we want that to be an example of violence being a bad thing, did we do that message a disservice by "sanitizing" it?

The Jews watched 2 hours of Jews killing Jesus. The Christians watch 2 hours of Jesus dying. Too bad they can't each understand this.

yes, and if we, the Jews, can kill Christian God,
the rest of the world doesn't have a fucking chance.

Don't tell that to a few hundred thousand or so Mexicans named Jesus :biglaugh:

Take all your religions and hold them up against Greek (or Roman) mythology and

Because it is very clear that it is a crock Serge. Just like the tough Soviet Jew bollocks. Or maybe you were excluding the Moscow Jews. When I see shit, I gotta put it right. BTW, I also spent a lot of time in the Central Synagogue in Moscow when it was Soviet, so I have pretty good understanding of Russian Jews and made it possible for a few refusniks to get out. They put on their pants one leg at a time and ain't no different than the rest of us. But as a former Mossad agent, you might have more intimate information. Over to you Sergedude.
I am going back to the beach.

I have no opinion on the movie whatsoever, not much of a movie goer, even less interested in religion as a whole and I think Mel Gibson is a wanker.

But I heard on the radio as I was picking up the boys from school that a woman in the US has died of a heart attack during the crucifixion scene at her local cinema. Just thought I'd let you know. :)

i am not Jewish or religious. I do not believe in God.

i originally intended to watch the movie because i really like history. then i started hearing all the BS and felt like i had to watch it. then i began to resent the fact that i felt like i had to watch it because of all the hype. then i decided to watch the trailer online one more time before watching it and noticed that it is about the last 12 hrs of his life. then i had to ask myself "why pay money and waste two hours to watch someone get beat and killed in another language?"

...but there were drawbacks along the way too. Russian Jews could NOT re-take Lefrak City in Queeens, where they were dropped in 1979,
and became 1% minority in the project.

I was there....

if there are any constants in this world,
MORONS is one of them.

JR, if all he saw and remembers from Moscow synagoge is how they were taking their pants off,
I think he spent his time in Moscow in the gay bar where few spoke Yiddish

It really bugs you Serge, when someone sees right through your Russian bullshit, doesn't it? You may be devious and good at internet business, but at politics...especially Russian and Middle Eastern, you really do suck. Not a freekin clue. But so far no one but me has seen it. I think that is why you banned me before. Truth really gets to youdude doesn't it. BTW, I have never really used moron here, because I truly believe most are not. However, I gotta say that you, for sure, in the literal sense of the word, are a political moron. A true blowhard with no real concept of world issues. And on top of it all, you blow smoke about Jews and apparently have done nothing for the cause. Correct me if I am wrongdude. Just one thing appart from buying State of Israel bonds or something.
Nows your chance. Walk it like you talk it. I did.

Oh, BTW, I think all they speak in Russian Gay bars is Yiddish, no? You would no better than I.
