I've noticed a lot more poker action on ChoicePoker than on any other online poker game. By action, I mean I have noticed an inordinate amount of good hands and the river card almost always seems to be a jackpot for someone. I've been on both ends of this wild action. It's not uncommon at all to see 3 people have AK or pairs in the pocket all on the same hand. In fact, I have found that if I have pocket pair, at least two other people will also have one in that hand.

I'm not the only one to notice this. Anyway, my question is if choice poker has somehow been programmed for added excitement or something? This is not a knock against CP in any way, so don't take it as such! I'm just curious if CP has some special set-up in this regard.

Thanks.

True, I'm constantly seeing 3 pocket pairs in the same hand and lots of matching pockets like A/K... all the time

People say this all the time about online poker. My theory is that some people playing online play looser than if they were in a face to face game. I think people also play differently in these webmaster tourneys because they didnt have to put money in so you see a lot of crazy showdowns that you wouldnt normally see.

Yeah I have noticed it as well. I have been killed when I had good hands, by othe people with awesome hands. Having lost with 3 kings, to 3 aces most recently.

If you look at their hand count at top you will see they just broke 100,000 hands played.

at party poker they have 100,000 hands played in a few hours. I think maybe cuz they are not as spaced out as the other places? I really don't know. I know that the software company has 15 licensee and american card room is one of them.

I'll asked if it's rigged, but I doubt they willtell me. We have to see it in a month or two torealy tell. I know for a fact this isn't a fly by night company and they have big plans in the near future. so i don't see them trying any monkey biz.

How long does it usually take for a poker site to get ramped up so that there's at least 500 players in there around the clock?
Hell, even 50 players around the clock.

I see thousands upon thousands of players at other sites and it makes me wonder why there are 5000 of them fighting for placement in a freeroll at PokerStars when they could come over and get on the list of 147 for real money at Choice. (Of which only 30 of us showed up!)

new pokerroom carrie. they will have to spend lots in marketing to gain even one half of a percent of market share. In 2-3 months we'll all know if they will make it or not. I will help them along the ways . They have a big promo coming out very soon that will get them on the map.

this is the beginning of the poker bubble that about to burst. soon they will have every poker room online set up for people to deposit and withdrawl at any time. lets just see and wait.,in the meantime. AdultPokerTour.com will be launched in less than a week. Wait till you see it. :matey:

Miss Eve, I agree that especially with play money, people play fast and loose and stay in with hands they would have folded in face to face real money games, but I can say without a shadow of a doubt that ChoicePoker plays way hotter than Paradise Poker as far as quality of hands and surprise straights and flushes pulled on the river. I mean if it's possible to pull a flush or straight on the river, it's pulled more often than not in my opinion. And where there's one poket pair, very often there's 2 or 3. I rarely see so many good hands all at the same time on Paradise Poker. It's a noticable difference.

On choice poker, I have seen six different 4 of a kinds in maybe 8 or 10 tournaments. In Paradise Poker, I have seen two 4 of a kinds in 30 or so tournaments or thousands of hands at play money tables.
Doesn't seem to stop you from finishing 1st or 2nd every time though!

Real-time casinos have many ways of altering their (pick one) house take / odds ...

The other day some show about Vegas (probably another Travel Channel one) quoted the odds on $1 slots, quarter slots and nickel slots. The higher machine you play, it's built into the machines the looser the odds. Anyways a "real" casino has the ability and a certain leeway within a legal framework that they can alter odds. I'm sure an online one with scripting has more freedom to do so.

Another thing I've noticed over the years, in both AC and Vegas, is that busy casinos have tigher slots. Casinos not often visited have looser ones. Is it that casinos set the house take lower to drum up business, or a mathematical forumula that the less people the better (better slot pulls, better poker hands, etc) or maybe it's a combination of the two. No idea, but food for thought.

I would say though that increasing player odds or giving better hands would be a very smart thing to do draw in people from other places.
