I spent 3 months in SA in the autumn, went to Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Brazil, have to go again to Bolivia, Peru Ecuador etc. S-America is a pretty cool place, a bit scary at times but I love it. Have fun!! :)

Have a great time Serge, I know I did when I was there :)

Never forget the beauty of Lake Titicaca with the intense colors you experience in those altitudes and the mistery of Machu Picchu is an incredible sight.

She's 8-9 months pregnant - I doubt her doctor would let her get near a plane and I can't imagine she'd enjoy trekking through the SA in her condition. So yes, it IS a big deal.

Yep..The surgery is scheduled for March 4th.. My last week of flying was the week I got home from Vegas.. That and having two small kids doesn't make spur-of-the-moment travel easy or convenient :)

I'm jealous. A good friend... we saved and prmised that once she was out of med school we'd plan a trip. This was many moons ago. There were tourist warnings due to kidnapping and all sorts of bad things going on. We waited and wait, we finally had to get back to work.

You should take some pictures. Did you ever read that book The Celestine Prophecy? That whole region remind me of that.

Serge, let's hope the world stays relatively calm while you are in South America. My friend was in Brazil on 9-11. She heard about the Twin Towers in her hotel room on CNN. The tour came to a halt. She got the only flight she found to return to the US. For once, the owners of the hotels and tours refunded all her money...100%! Very unusual. Usually, you have to fight for every cent.

A year went by and she returned, and loved all the countries she saw. Another friend is waiting for the unrest to settle down in Columbia so she may go home.

PICTURES! How about some pictures of the mountains, the nude beaches, and the emerald mines.

You're the king of trip pictures. Send them our way! It's rather quiet these days, and some pictures of nude bathers would wake up your webmaster buddies. :awinky:
