For those that rarely look at GFY (me being one , though today I read it) I thought I'd mention some monthly sales:
AaronM - $8500
Boneprone is alledgedly turning down $12k
Unknowns are being picked up at $500 - $1000pm. (Many by Lensman)
These $$$$$ are nuts..............
--- btw I was the first person ,I think, to pay people to post on WM Boards when I owned Netpond....and look at it now ;-))))

Yep, Wig and I were talking about this yesterday. Maybe I'm just clueless, but to recoup $8500-12K for a monthly sig seems like a HUGE gamble.
I personally don't see this lottery lasting much longer. :awinky:
(HOWEVER, for $15K a month, I'll gladly continue to promote WTS on the side but put YOUR sig in my posts. B) )

well some of the money is ego driven, and we'll never know excactly how much was "sent/paid"
That said, I did pick up some "sig reps" myself so we'll see how they do for Feb.

12k for boneprone is BS
the rest is just plain stupid..
Im thinking that it didnt even cost that much to get oprano skinned for a week.

I have nearly 9000 posts on another board over 7 years. I was told by someone that if I had that on gfy I could get $1k/month easy. Makes no sense to me whatsoever. Half these people only post smileys 100 times a day. I guess it takes a big number of posts to become "respected" by morons. I guess because I don't post there much it makes me a "newbie". :biglaugh:

Yeah, they won't give me back my ulfie nick and that really annoys me. I registered it the day that board opened. Lensman used to be a regular on the PC board and it was becoming the amateurpages support board after awhile. I have to hand it to Lensman though, he created a zoo and it can be entertaining at times. I'm sure it rakes in some good money so more power to him.
Peaches, the cigarman "experiment" was hilarious. I got bashed like you wouldn't believe for everything I posted because I was a "newbie" with 10 posts. Even people that knew me (but didn't know it was me posting) were bashing me. It was like watching a school of sharks go to work on a whale carcass. :P

wait till there's a market for sig buyers mid-month try to recoup loss. day one buyer pays $12,300., day 5 , posting to everyone who would listen to his whines. day 10, asking anyone to take it for half, day 20 contacts me to get $500 for the last 10 days.
new market soon I predict. or $15,000 sigs for life. 1 of the 2

That does not make you a newbie...The fact that you clearly do not understand marketing is what might put you in that category.
It's about branding. These sig sales are perfect for branding my own name as well as those who have the balls and bank accounts to back up their bids. Not to mention the branding that the winner receives from my sig views.
It's not just about a post count my friend. I am not my postcount.
I'm just a newbie. :okthumb:

Hoop, in all honesty, would you pay $8K+ a month for a sig? I know you're buying sigs, but don't you have a limit where you say "Whoa!"?
IMHO, anything over $2K is excessive. But maybe I'm a fool. :awinky:

How do you file for taxes if your main income is space inside your post? I hate getting lump sums like that. when tax time comes it's gone and uncle sam don't give a fuck.
I predict tax-free sigs soon(buyer pays tax on sig) just a guess.

Boneprone wasn't offered anything for his sig, unless he stood in front of a mirror and offered it to himself.
It's funny to watch him strutting around ranting; the man and his "family" are a joke to 98% of GFY but to listen to him you'd think he was the Godfather.
A number of folks' sigs got picked up yesterday, there were a surprising number that didn't. Some folks who make genuinely good posts most of the time were left behind by folks who just post smileys or "just posting for sig placement" statements. Sad.

Precisely. I saw on GFY that someone bought BradShaw's sig. I do not know how much, but let's just say hypothetical $5,000 . It stands to reason that if BradShaw sold it for $5k then it must be worth less than $5k to him in clicks or he would reject $5k. Soo. I just don't get it. Why does the buyer not realize that the traffic isn't worth $5k?

Some folks who make genuinely good posts most of the time were left behind by folks who just post smileys or "just posting for sig placement" statements. Sad.
someone actually does get it.... :P
Actually I've been thinking about offering to pay posters NOT to have Cloud 9 Cash in their sigs
Imagine that branding
This space was not paid for by Cloud 9 Cash
ah ha ha ha ha

well some of the money is ego driven, and we'll never know excactly how much was "sent/paid"
That said, I did pick up some "sig reps" myself so we'll see how they do for Feb.
Oh, did you ever get a rep. :yowsa:

Ah, well that explains it. I heard on the street that the guy who runs that ain't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer. Though I heard on an elevator he does have the LARGEST knife!

BradShaw, if you sig is worth that much money in clicks or 'branding', why do you not promote siccash in it instead of makefuckingmoney?

I have not really paid attention to my own sigs in a long time. They are very stale. So one more month and $8k will not hurt.

How do you file for taxes if your main income is space inside your post?
Since when is sig money my main income?
when can you afford to buy me dinner?
Whenever we are in the same place at the same time again.
you know that the chances of that are slim.....you can send me a bottle of Swanson 2001 Merlot and we call it quits....or would you rather have me bust your balls?[/b][/quote]

I don't give a shit who you are, buying those sigs is not worth it, not even close to 8 grand... Why - we all know the population over at GFY and the intellectual level...
Maybe if GFY was a packed board full of webmasters who earn 10k+/month, but we can all solidly estimate that the average income per month of a GFYer is probably $500-$1000/month.
I'll tell you why BradShaw sold his sig, cause he's not a fucking idiot, and he knows his sig isn't even worth close to 8 grand.
Most of the people buying sigs are wealthy and the money is insignificant to them, cause if the money was significant, they wouldn't be buying them :) That is why certain people are getting paid so much for their sigs..
Most of those big programs should take the thousands they spend, buy a list, and "mail" the shit out of them, cause for most big affiliate programs today, that is the lifeline..
Sig for sale here and anywhere else you want me to post for tree fiddy
(after taxes)
:D
Its a free market - let guys use their pocket changes anyway they want, and be happy if you know how to get things done cheaper.

Some of this obviously depends on what you are selling.
For a sponsorship program, who can benefit from any moron with some traffic, it makes more sense.
Maybe even from a branding perspective it makes sense here.
But for someone like WTS, who is only dealing with decision makers at companies that utilize ACH processing, it is hard to justify IMO.

Another thing is people keep telling me the buyers are big players with lots of cash.......
I must be getting old :(
I've only heard of half of them.
I guess Pharma and other non-adult products beckon for me ;)

I know who they are. It is well known. The principal of the company spent $500 in Vegas just buying me lapdances... needless to say, but I went home sore!!
However, I am not going to out the guy. I will let someone else do that. From what I understand his ICQ has been going off the hook with people wanting him to buy their sig space. He is a busy man, I do not want him to get bogged down.

I guess I'm a whore.
I sold my sig on GFY for February. We still haven't been able to get everything straight with Epoch, setting up our affiliate program, getting Visa approval etc; so there's no use putting my own banner in my sig right now. Why not use the space and get some extra $$ for it?
I don't post just smileys, I don't jump into a thread and post "reserving sig spot on first page" (literally I've seen people post that a LOT); I actually chat and help out when possible. The program that paid for my sig space knows I'm not a "just smiley" person and they're fine with that.
