They say that in Thailand, they have recently destroyed around 9 million chickens suspected of carrying the disease. I find that a little hard to believe, but anyway...

Actually you missed a couple, Chris.
First it was the cows.
Then it was the "cats", that are actually foxes.
Then it was the dogs.
Now it's the birds.

Just ask KRL to show you some pics sometime of the "cats" and dogs being held and used for food. Fuckin' sick. But make sure he gives you links instead of just posting the pics... you might want to go through them a little slower then just having them all right there in your face. :(

Actually the avian version of this flu has already been mutated in swine, and more than one person in Vietnam had died from it the last time I read about it, which was a couple weeks ago. They quarantined a plane at LAX that came in from Asia last week for several hours as well, though I didn't hear for sure if this is what the issue might have been.

Supposedly the Spanish flu epidemic 80 years or so ago was transmutated from pigs to human form, and was the most deadly flu epidemic ever -- either 20 or 40 million dead from it... I'd go look all this up but I'm too busy getting ready to move in a couple days and time is short, for sure.

Oh I should also mention there's a case of mad cow on the West Coast right now. Victim was a vegetarian.

Sidebar: Are you moving to CA and if so, is this long term or short term?
