It's just a cpu/motherboard combo, but it's a pretty good deal. Specs are:

AMD Athlon XP 2000+with a Cooler Master heatsink/fan
K7SEM (http://www.ecsusa.com/products/k7sem.html) Motherboard with onboard sound/lan/video has 2 pci slots, 1 4x AGP, 2 USB
256mb RAM(PC-133 SDRAM but I have another stick of 256 PC-133 SDRAM in this computer, so I'll have a total of 512mb)

All for $86

Amazing how computer prices continue to drop so fast.

The computer power today in the latest desktops is more then 99.9% of people using it.... and will continue to grow exponentially.

All that computational power just to be able to play the latest games....

Only other app that even begins to tap all that power is video rendering.

That's a great deal...or it seems like one...I don't keep up to date with prices unless I need to upgrade or buy a new computer..

Have fun with it B)

That reminds me, isn't it about time for a new caption contest?

There's certainly plenty of material to stock it with after the show....

That pic is disturbing.

about your new computer, I like to be an ass, so I will tell you, that motherboard is crap.

ECS is one of the companies on my blacklist. Plus, its a mini-ATX, so only 2 PCI slots.
Also, PC-133 is a very outdated memory standard, everything now is on DDR and you're memory will be a terrible bottleneck in this case.
Only 2 USB is not enough these days
Only 2 memory slots
Only 2 IDE/No serial-ATA
SiS chipset, I hate SIS

but eh, cheap is good...

Yup, and I know my next computer purchase will be selected around making sure I can handle the specs for Everquest II.

Plus, its a mini-ATX, so only 2 PCI slots.
The one that is being sent has onboard sound/lan/video. The video I won't use since I have a better card. The only thing right now I'm using my PCI slots for is sound and lan. I've got 5 slots total and use 2.

Also, PC-133 is a very outdated memory standard, everything now is on DDR and you're memory will be a terrible bottleneck in this case.
This computer I'm using has PC-133 SDRAM. Having just 2 slots is not helpful but I will still have more RAM on that computer than I do this one. (512MB compared to 384MB)

Only 2 USB is not enough these days
That's all I use, one for my keyboard, one for my digital camera. The mouse is a USB mouse, but I have a USB -> PS/2 converter. So if needed, I can use the other one and plug the keyboard in the other PS/2 and open up the USB.

Only 2 IDE/No serial-ATA
I have a friend sending me a card that turns a PCI slot into 2 IDE channels. So although cutting my PCI slots in half, I will be doubling my IDE channels.
