If youve wondered how to get in touch with IMPA and donate as well as get involved. Oprano has donated a button in the amateur forum to help folks here find and fight the patent.

Glad they are on board. A solid company. Might enhance their leadership role in the industry.

Flynt folded quickly, these cats are going to fight.... Who is going to lead the way in the future?

A lot easier to see who's not, just look at the list of companies that settled ;)

Definately Toolz.

Look at who is in defense group, and then who has settled.

It speaks VOLUMES to me.

Nope - as Peaches said - they are Adult check. Our company name is Tradeshow Productions, Inc. One of the shows is Cybernet Expo..... (which took almost 5 years to get a trademark for)

National A-1 Advert released their offical PR statement about them fighting against Acacia.. some great quotes not covered in the AVN article.

http://www.fightthepatent.com/v2/NationalA1.html

My favorite part of the PR:

Richard Cohen said:

"It is hard to believe and embarrassing to many of us in the industry," Cohen asserts, "that many companies have chosen to settle even though, in their hearts, they know Acacia is wrong"

"These companies also know that Acacia has a reputation for bullying defendants into settling. Companies that have settled now look at the royalties they must pay to Acacia as just another cost of doing business."

Although Cohen says he prefers to avoid the headaches and stresses associated with any litigation, he strongly believes there is more to life than money.

"Doing the right thing and fighting for what we believe in is what we will do,"' says Cohen. "Even if we lose, we will know that, in good conscience, we did the best we could to stop the unfair and unjust claims made by a company whose battle plan knows no limits."

Some great quotes.

I think they are in line with the majority of people in this industry!

By majority, you mean the 80% that make up 20% of the overall revenue?

HAHA true..... but th 80% has a lot of the traffic, just no way to monetize it, so they have to send it to programs.

Some programs who have settled have lost some of their support.

I imagine after the lawsuit is over, and the good guys win, there will be a lot of people pointing out who sold out the industry.

It would be embarassing to point out who has settled, folded, to then loose a court case and end up eating crow.

Not only that but most that settled will have to continue paying royalties under the terms of the agreements.

Plus the ones that settled now have a big bullseye on their backs.

I hear rumors that the other streaming media patent holders (usa video, sightsound) want to go after the same list of companies that Berman has on his PR every time someone new settles.

No doubt about this.

Once this is all done with, there will be clear winners and losers. The people who gave in, especially those who are actively working with Acacia will get their due.

Kinda like the Vichey French.... a day of reckoning will come.
