So Meni's a 9.8 on hotornot.com

I look and ...

Pretty consistently:

Girls that were rated 6-7 by THEM I was rating as 1 or 2.
If I rated a girl a 4, THEY rated her an 8.
My 6's were THEIR 9's.
My 7's were up around 9.8

What's going on here?

Pornographer's standards or hotornot inflation?

My roommate enjoys the site BangMe (http://www.bangme.net) which is exactly the same as HotOrNot. I think the whole concept is pretty fucked up. I mean, girls are there simply to say "Look at me and tell me I'm beautiful and sexy!" which, of course, really pisses them off when he votes them a 1 or 2. He gets **nasty** emails saying things like "Fuck you asshole if you dont like the picture just hit skip!" This, to me, defies the whole purpose of the site but I suppose some people see it only as a forum for self-aggrandizing behavior and what amounts to basically a community circle-jerk of compliments. *sigh*

Its entirely possible that I am overanalyzing, but hell, it just seems so damn *shallow*. I mean I know I'm not the worlds best looking guy by any stretch of the imagination - thats not a lack of self esteem, its an abundance of realism. These people, they get off on being told they're great looking.

If 200 people told me I was gorgeous I would believe a third of them and figure the other two thirds were kissing my arse to get something. :)
