Okay, as I said in my intro this morning...Im fairly new to this. I have a cute little site put together (thanks to my server host dreamnet). I have done zero marketing for it. So all my sales/hits come via dreamnet. What I would like to do, is become the marketing queen. Honestly, that is something that has scared me a bit because I dont understand how to get Joe wannabeaporn Buyer to my site. I have seen the cross banner linking, and wonder how effective that is.... So, as a new venture...what would you folks recommend the way to begin to market my site....banner exhanges...search engine postings...what? WHat have you found that is most effective for you?

I think the only you are going to be able to tell what is 'effective' is trying out different things. There is not 1 definitive answer to your question unfortunatley.
Most amatuers have spend a considerable amount of time trying different approaches like the ones you mentioned. Some worked well for some and not well for others. It really depends on various factors.
The same traffic may convert for you, but not for someone else. The key is to finding the traffic and works for you and then making the most of that traffic even if its just a small amount.
I know it seems like I basically told you nothing and you came looking the "the answer", but there just isn't one :( I wish there was.
I am curious---does DreamNet offering you any kind of help with marketing? They have been in the biz a long time, I would assume that as a partner site they would have some area of the girls to view with some ideas, tips, tricks, that sort of thing. Do they not?

All I can say to you, is for a whole year, we've been spending our whole evening in front of our computers even sometimes our whole days, we've been trading links, builting different designs, trading links, making photo shoot with other web gals, trading links, surfing porn, trading links, exchanging promopacks, putting our URL in as many free ressources as possible, making new friends, trading links, installing a counter to see if we actually get the traffic there, trading links, changing the pic on the friends pages, trading links, posting some galleries in TGP's, builting a refferal program so other people can post our galleries in TGP's or promote us.... and did I say, the most important of all TRADING LINKS and spending 90% of our time in front of our computers!
We started with nothing, slowly got more and more things, grew a bit bigger, changed approach a few times and went down last summer and slowly, since the holliday season started, we got a lot more memberships on a daily basis. If I compare with last year's holidays we now get 10X what we use to get in memberships then.

Dreamnet does a few things...like I said the majority of my hits come from them still...I would just like to increase the traffic...trial and error is okay...we certainly dont mind sitting in front of our computers (we do that now)...I guess we are trying to find out what has been effective for you guys...avoid the potholes you have found on the internet...that sort of thing.

:) well now...that about covers it ;). Where did you start to find various resources for link trading..beyond other girls? Im sure you did the various google searches how about specific things for you site..(ie Im a redhead...where would that sort of resource be...etc).

Well, lets see... 1st, if you didn't get the Alexa toolbar, go get it at www.alexa.com . It will help you see how much traffic you are getting to your site and also when you add your link to someone's friendspage you will be able to tell if she's got some traffic or not. The lower the ranking is, the more traffic you are getting. Have to be carefull thought, quantity doesn't necessarily mean quality. You can also with alexa see where the site gets traffic from. Sometimes, it will help you to find those TGP's and those toplist you wouldn't have find otherwise.
Like Kacy said, some things will work for some but won't for others... we basically tried everything but two 1- buying traffic (it's an amateur site, there will always be amateurs wanting to promote your site for free, don't need to buy it.) 2- Top list pop ups and exit consoles (most surfers despise them, won't ever go back to see your site if they see that.)
If you don't have it now, get yourself an autorank page, don't go for someone setting it up to you in exchange of banners because that will make a leak in it so you won't get higher in their friends page rank, they basically steal traffic from you... unless someone makes it and tells you they will put the autorank codes in it, but that's not everyone who is willing to do that. And never link to someone else if they don't have a link back at you, check your stats often to see if you get traffic from them and go check their sites often to see if you are still on it.
The ressources are so crowded. But you can still find some that will bring you a good amount of traffic because your link will be post on top for a few days. There are many picture post sites where you can put a URL, there are the TGP's (but not the biger ones, they have way too much stuff on it) If you want some links, hit me on ICQ 167891193
There are all your keywords you can put in your text (html) on your site to make your it be caught by search engines. When you type your text, type it wisely... Think of what a porn surfer might type in a search engine. You can even go with mispelling some words, lots of them do typos. :awinky:
Oh and I surfed through your site but only got 2 pages. Maybe I am dumb or maybe I checked it too quick. I would put more thought.
My site is about to change. I never liked that kind of tour I have, on January first it will be a whole new stand alone tour mostly HTML. It's going to be much better. :)

If Kacy is offering you some help myadvice to you would be to take it.
SHe be one smart cookie and works with a lot of the girls.
Also spend a lot of time asking questions and trying different things.
And of course hanging out on Oprano.
Thats the biggest headstart you could give yourself.
After we get back from Vegas I hve some resources and tips I will post here for the use of our amateurs.
Another thing I would look into would be getting your own domain name and maybe some nekkid hosting!

Ive got some MGP traffic Id like to wash thru some top lists.
This isnt a personality site but washing out some of the bottom feeder freeloaders that are looking for more free porn.

This way you can submit that specific URL to the different niche Top Lists and the traffic would already be well filtered.
Then just use niche specific sponsors on each page. Just make a template and copy if over and over for each niche and just change out the banners and movie links.
Then you can add links to hosted galleries for the niche, POD, etc. So you can give it all on one page :)

make your index page the directory for the categories and then you can have whatever mixture of sponsors on the main page :)

a lot of people here don't mention AVS & I don't like this one in particular, but ProAdult would be a good place to get your feet wet with.
They do really well for real amateurs from what I can tell and you can get some traffic from contributions to voyeurweb/redclouds deal they have - it might not be the best idea to dive head first with a paysite.

I asked this elsewhere and got no response, but since you mention AVS, which ones are left standing and are worth messing with at this point?
I have some old AdultCheck sites I need to rebuild and find a new home for...
Cyberage, cybersexnetwork and UGAS - Dave there is one helluva nice guy...one of the nicest in the business - dont' think you can go wrong with them & they're pretty much the goliath at this point. They're dealing with more in transactions monthly than most of even the uber whales here or anywhere can even fathom doing in their wildest wet dreams, wm board piss insipired dreams, processors...there's whales & there's "whales". Other's drop 50K on gifts, perks - they spend a million or so on traffic for their webasters...figger it out.
NetVerifier is still going strong too. A bit harder to deal with (site requirements and such) but still solid I think. (moot point if you don't want the site(s) listed on their links tho)
For "Free AVS's" - SexKey & FreeAgeCard both convert really really well & sexkey sends a bit of traffic off their LL.
Oneverify swapped out to paid trials and doesn't accept regular sites anymore...so dunno what's going on with them.
Other's I don't know enough about to really comment on.
Best thing is to spend the few minutes to mirror the sites across a few of them and see which one's sell best with which traffic.

I think alot of the amateurs are using Pro Adult. I have heard really great thing about them.
The reason I didn't mentioned that as an option to Sedona is because is on the DreamNet Network of sites. Simiarlity to an AVS, but a little different. Also, being on a network like she is not able to just do whatever she wants with her site, she has some limitations and guidelines to work within :)

Well I push the envelope as much as I can. ..I honestly like dreamnet a lot. Much better then who I tried originally. :awinky: The one place they dont help is with traffic other then their entry page (which is like winning the lotto to get a click from). They started a new page recently which has helped traffic a bit...but the bulk of my traffic comes from update days, which is nice, but I would like to duplicate that on a daily basis. Since I started asking for advice here I have already started getting about 50 extra hits a day...so I plan to keep on pounding the keyboards...

I didn't pay attention to where the site was hosted...yer prolly right if someone wants to stay on a free host. I'll defer to someone who actually knows about individual amateur sites :wnw:

hello, and sorry I havent responded lately. I ran head long into the flu... and between me and hubby and our son...it has run the gamet of the household...the lists you have provided were great and now that I am feeling human again I am pushing my webmaster along to get them up. Ill keep you up to date once I get this redhead body rolling again.

Can you clarify what it takes to be listed on those top lists?
Ive got some MGP archives that are catagorized Id like to link to some of the lists. Do they qualify by category or would they be listed as movie sites?
If you have a page with say ONLY hardcore movies then that page would qualify for XXX list.
Just a generic page with all kinds of different ones would qualify for videos list :)

another sedona question...how hard is it to do one of those top lists yourself. Having gone through them...I couldnt help but notice most of the redheads on the list...werent. If redheads are as niche as I think we are (1 percent ;) ) seems like to me someone with more html savvy then me should put up a "real" redheads list and limit it to that.

I can tell you that my lists (certified) we actually check each listing to make sure the site is about red heads and all the girls have red hair.
On the other lists, you can just submit a red head photo to match the category and be listed. They don't care where the link actually goes, or I should say the usually don't check.
If you found anything like that on my lists, please let me know :)
also--just wanted to mention that it is a full time job keeping up with the lists. Webmasters will submt one site and get approved and then after they are approved go back and edit their account and change the URL to a different site.
anyway--we TRY to keep the list clean, but its tough :)

Well I wasnt actually refering to your site (certified), just..."in general"...I saw sites where it was obvious the girl wasnt a natural redhead (dye job), where there happened to be a redhead in the middle of a group action (the site was for a brunette) and where the girls didnt even try to pretend to be a redhead (I saw at least a half dozen brunettes in redhead sites). I understand lots of cheating goes on..the battle for the hits has no rules :)

My first suggestion would be to get a autorank script (http://www.jmbsoft.com/) wich is what most amateurs use. They have a ready made friends page template so you can easily copy and paste it for the basic design everyone use. Then trading and keeping track of links will be a breeze
Your friends page is a great page to use as a exit console (if you don't mind a popup) and I have had great success with that.

Do you know if you are able to have "friendspage" on DreamNet? If so, I would try that for sure. If they won't install the script for you, then you can get a free one at http://friendspage.com
These things would at least get you some fresh surfers that probably have not seen you before and you can see how the trafffic works for you and go from there :)
