Check out 2 MPEGs

My mechanic ripped about the Camaro and has been making improvements. He has not told me everything he has done, he just send me clips from time to time.

Sounds pretty nice to me.

Sounds nice !!

But to be on the safe side of thing I think you should let me take
it out for a few days to make sure its safe, I dont want anything
to happen to you, just like Brad was making Laura eat the cookies
first.. see it's a saftey thing

Now that is a truly selfless act. That does my heart good to see so much compassion. If there were more people in the world like Billy this would be a better place.

ahh... i miss those days of broken motor mounts, automatic transmissions being twisted apart, breaking rear ends, sucking intake valves, snapping axles, spun bearings/engine rebuilds at 3-4,000 a pop.

i miss my Chevelle :)

Automatic transmissions? :o

There is a 69 Baracuda for sale in the next town. I keep telling myself that I need it as much as Bullwinkle needs a hat rack, but day-um, it's in pretty good shape. I can do the work, I can afford the car, I can afford the insurance ...

...it's them tickets I just don't want to pay. My left foot has a compulsive disorder when sitting in a car like that.

When I went into Navy boot camp gas was right about $0.50 a gallon.

When I got out of boot camp (March, '73) gas was $1.40 a gallon.

I sold my 'cuda and bought a VW Beetle.

(With a Holly "Bugspray" carb and a Bosch centrifical distributor, a VW Beetle is quite capable of 90-100 MPH and still get around 30 mpg. Er, uh, WOULD be capable if such speeds were legal. I mean, of course, that I PERSONALLY would never do such a thing, but I'm told they could do that.)

it had a big block (454) and at the time i preferred automatics. sometimes the motor mounts would break and it would twist the transmission case apart.

i like muscle cars too. they are fun. but like you, i just can't seem to keep my foot off the gas :) soooo many times i said "ok, look... just be normal, drive normal and don't be a maniac" ... my self control usually lasted about a good 10 minutes or so before i was treating stop lights like it was a 1/4 mile strip and the station wagon next to me actually wanted to race.

OK just got the results from the Dyno.

Dave the CarGod sent me this:

Can you say four hundred and sixty cubic inches. (460cid) with 450 horsepower and 550 foot pounds of torque at 3600 rpm's.. I just finished dynoing the engine late tonight.. It is the Monster of Torque... Can you image a car that makes 500 foot pounds of torque at 2000 rpms

Just for reference, for those non-tech car people ( I am far from an expert myself) the Porsche Carrerra GT has 435 ft. lbs of torque @ 5,700 RPM. The Mercedes SL 500 has 393 Ft Lbs @ 2,700 RPM

I should get the car this weekend. I am going to need to take a loan out for tires!!

Save some money for the speeding tickets too ;)

Actually you can start racing people for pinkslips and selling their cars to offset the increased costs!!!
