Sponsors that always seem to pay late

There are some sponsors that always seem to pay late. Is it that they are near broke or just unorganized?

I know of one processor that claims all the time that UPS looses the check and reissues another one. buying an extra 7-10 days. Funny thing is...they never give out the tracking number.
