Woman Gets Bank Deposit With Breakfast
Fri Dec 19, 6:51 AM ET Add Strange News - AP to My Yahoo!
WESTON, Fla. - A mother of three got a lot more than she ordered at a McDonald's drive-thru. Janice Meissner ordered a bagel and a Diet Coke for breakfast last week, but when she got her food bag it seemed "super heavy."
That was because it had hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in a sealed plastic bag — money that turned out to be the restaurant's bank deposit.
McDonald's officials, who wouldn't say exactly how much was involved, said the deposit was placed in a food bag as a security procedure to make it less conspicuous before it was taken to the bank.
They said it was accidentally left too close to the drive-thru window of the Weston fast-food chain.
"Someone didn't check twice before sending it out the window, obviously," said spokeswoman Beth Plotkin.
Meissner, who had just dropped off her 5-year-old daughter at preschool, paused for a moment before backing up her minivan to the pickup window and returning the money to the employee who handed her the bag.

Amazing. Remind me not to drop any money around you guys.
Of course chances are that kind of money in a paper bag was from a drug dealer or somethng. Who puts that much cash in a paper bag?

Hey, I am the "definitely return the money" guy. But you know this. I may burn your candles, but I would never take your cash. B)

I would have given the money back. Karma scares me and there's no way I could keep it or spend a dime of it. Now, if it was some drug dealer's cash, and I KNEW they couldn't find me, I'd donate it anonymously somewhere - maybe a drug rehabilitation clinic. :P

Years ago, I got 2 ounces of a green leafy vegtable-like substance along with my two quarter pounders with cheese.
I did not return that to the local McDonalds.
It was very good ... except it made me eat a lot more quarter pounders with cheese, and about two weeks later there was a big article in the paper about a drug ring busted at the local McDonalds.
As I said, I did not return these spices. However, fearing that they were an illegal substance, I burned it. Really. All of it. Didn't want to start a big fire, so I burned small quantities at time, but I got rid of all of it.

I'd have gone back to the McD's and complained that my
"bonus" quarter-pounder was 2 ounces light, and demand
a refund...

LMAO Edd.
Sounds like most of the conversations I had at the drive-thrus in Ft. Lauderdale... I could barely understand those Hatians but by god they always got my order perfect!
Then I come up here to Virginia where I can understand the person on the other end of the speaker, they can understand me... they repeat my order back to me perfectly and STILL get it wrong... :headwall:
I would've returned the money also. I think they should've given the woman a "finder's fee" or a reward for returning it.
