That pic gave me flashbacks to Good Morning Viet Nam. I love that movie.

When I was stationed overseas, we had McLean & McLean perform for us.

I think it's great to see people go over the to entertain the troops - the guys looked THRILLED to have Robin there and I know from interviews I've seen with him before that he probably really enjoyed it as well.

We've lost Bob Hope - but hopefully other celebs will pick up the tradition and get out there to support our troops. :okthumb:

Robin Williams is definitely one of the coolest comedians and actors this country has. Way to go. :rokk:

Exactly - I could care less about the man's politics, doesn't matter to me if he supports Bush or was against the action....

A person's politics should NOT garner any respect from ANYONE. A person's ACTIONS should.

Same for people like Bob Hope. I could care less about who he voted for and when. Its what he DID - his dedication to the troops and his efforts that made me respect him. In my book, Robin just earned a bunch of respect according to his actions.

There have been a lot of entertainers performing for the troops through the USO. They are all great to me....

Has Sean Penn been out there yet?

I've seen a few others while I was stationed overseas...

Bryan Adams
Tom Cochrane & Red Rider
etc..

Usually Canadian acts.
McLean & McLean were hilarious though. I've seen them several times over the years.

Nobody else is familiar with them?
