1. What happens when you take it out into water that's higher than it is? Does it sit on the bottom? Does it float? Are there inboard motors so you can drive it around like a boat?

2. What are you supposed to do when you want some sun and air? Climb onto the roof and hope you don't slip off?

As a bus it's really really nice. As a boat it's just dumb. About the only thing it's useful for is if you get caught driving in floodwater.

I think the specifications says it floats as soon as you drive it on the water. As far as the sunbathing issue:

The rear porch doubles as a swim deck. An optional fold down deck is available that will expand the deck 6’ farther to the rear and by the full width of the vehicle. A shower unit is provided with hot and cold running water for the convenience of the swimmers and fisherman as well.

Although, I'm afraid to ask how much the additional 6' deck would be, since I am sure this baby costs $$$.

That's what I get for not reading the text. I just saw the pictures on Hubby's screen as he was looking at it.

Was he drooling?

Hey, how did the sonogram go? My apologies if you already disclosed, I was gone for over a week in Europe.

I think he was just looking at it funny! :)
Didn't get a sonogram actually, they're going to wait until the 18th week or so and try to do all of the sizing and sexing all at one time. It's actually refreshing that when I voiced my concerns about sonograms the doctor agreed with me rather than poo-pooing the studies I've read.

Call me crazy, but I'll be damned if I'd drive a bus into the ocean or lake. Buses are not supposed to float and act like yachts. You get some heavy waves and I doubt that thing will stay afloat.

Just found this in a letter from the National transportation safety board:

"Further, the Coast Guard has approved the Hydra-Terra for the carriage of up to 49 passengers and a 2-person crew. "

49 passengers ????

Yeah, but the Titanic didn't have a compartmentalized foam lined hull...

would have saved a bunch of folks if they did....

I used to love the old Boston Whaler ad where they cut a hull in half and showed both sides floating happily along.......

They were showing that off at the lauderdale boat show this year, it was really nice but the inside smelled rank and mildewy.

For that price youd think theyd hire someone to design the site.

OK, I'm sure they can. But, can you imagine that bus crusing down the intercoastal in South Florida?

911 and the coast guard would be swamped with emergency call with people thinking it was a bus in trouble that had gone in the water.

Geez, just buy a boat LOL!

Saw one at the Fort Lauderdale boat show. Seems unstable, like it would tip in seas or wind. Seems like you'd be better off with a 600k boat and a 600k motor home.

"Never buy a houseboat; you don't have a very nice house or a very nice boat."

If you carry passengers, you'd need a chauffer's license and maybe master's papers (except in CA...there, probably primary's papers). :D
