I posted an article about this movie a long time ago and finally caught it on DVD

It's a movie called "Russian Ark" and is shot in one, long continuous shot (no edits at all) and deals with russian art and history. A frenchman encounters historical figures like Peter The Great and Boris Pitrovski as he travels through the Russian State Hermitage Museum. It's piqued my interest in Russian art and history and I'll definitely have to catch it a dozen more times to pick up new things.

I had a screener coopy of it a long time ago, but never got a chance to watch it before having to return it, I'm sorry I missed that chance...but glad I caught it now.

Here is the IMDB page:

Man that's impossible.

A 35mm magazine holds about 10 minutes worth of film.

There has to be edits somewhere if it has been shot on film.

It was shot entirely on digital.....they had a special battery pack (and had problems with it on the first take and had to start over)

Ive heard its amazing! I wish I would have gone to see it in the theater, it sounds like something that would be better on the big screen.

And it's added to the Netflix list. :rokk:

BTW, I've said it before, I'll say it again - the trilogy White, Blue and Red by Krzysztof Kieslowski wins my recommendations for "best films I rented in 2003". :okthumb:

Go see The Human Stain starring Anthony Hopkins, Nicole Kidman, Gary Sinese, and Ed Harris.

Very captiving story with many twists and turns.

I was reading the book when I read a review of the movie which was a spoiler. I still want to finish the book, but I'll have to get over my anger first. :P

Also, I've not seen the movie, though I've heard it's great, but if you like good "twists and turns", Mystic River was a good book (and therefore, probably a good movie. :awinky: ).
