Just curious, do you spend a lot of time at the tables (or slots) when in Vegas for Internext?

One thing I've always found mildly interesting about walking through casinos ....

... Look at the slot players ... (almost) none of them look happy or like they are having a good time

Slots are what pay for those enormous resorts. And the people who play the most are typically middle aged females who are quite intense about the whole thing.

It can be quality entertainment to torment them. You can walk thru a row of machines where they're playing, drop a bet in each machine and give it one pull and move to the next. As soon as you get to a machine that hits on first pull, gather up the coins and walk off. If you come back a couple of minutes later, odds are good they'll be on that machine. In some cases, playing both it *and* their "hot" machine that they've been playing all day if the two are within reach of one another.

We play about 1-2 hours... but we only gamble in Vegas. In our area we have 5 fairly large Indian casinos, but agreed when they went up that we wouldn't set foot inside for any reason. I'm proud to say we haven't. Our "gambling" - if you can call it that, as we budget our gaming ahead of time - is limited to Las Vegas and we go about 4 times per year (including Internext).

1-2 hours a day and the rest of our tourist time is spent trying out new restaurants, taking in shows and just people watching up & down the strip. I guess I'm the odd one out here because I love Vegas - it's a nice place to visit. :D

I like to think of Vegas as a sensory explosion for adults.

Whatever your vice is, they'll not only exploit it in Vegas, but take it to a whole new level.

GonZo and I are trying to figure out how to start a Krispy Kreme Buffet.

That's really an accurate way to look at it - lol But hey, I figure I'm actually AFK, away from the house, away from the kids... go ahead and exploit me. Change is good. :yowsa:

BTW.... I can somehow totally see Gonzo finding a way to make his Krispy Kreme buffet dream a reality. Hmmmm... we might actually get Nick down for a show too! :awinky:

That would be me. :(

And ask ANYONE who's been around me at the slots - Fay, Shok, Ryan, etc. I NEVER win. The only time I was ever winning was in the Imperial Palace and Vooman made me stop because we were on our way to breakfast. :headwall:

The only other time I won was in the Bahamas on my senior cruise. I won a few thousand on the wheel thing that's not flat like roulette, it's on the wall. I was underage so I'm glad they let me leave with it. I was in the Playboy casino and called my Dad collect so he could arrange a flight home for me (with my hard earned winnings, hehehe) and I wouldn't have to ride the bus back. He was a little worried when he got a call from the operator that was collect from his 17 year old daughter from the Playboy casino. :P

I take $20-50 to blow there and if I'm lucky, I can make it last a few hours.

I went there.......................once ;-)))

Never play slots. And if you are thinking $50 will last you 2 hours you must be playing 1cent slots. ;-))))

Or exceptionally lucky.

I know the average earn per hour of a 10cent machine would be approx $130.00 ...not a bad return on 4.75 sq ft :-)))

$20-50 for a few hours?

Nickels?

I drop a few bucks in slots while walking around, but if I'm going to sit down and gamble it's usually Blackjack or Pai Gow Poker.

Pai Gow Poker is probably the best game for losing your money slowly as the majority of hands will result in a push.

Quarters. :P

Shok and RRRed got hooked on Pai Gow 3 or so years ago in Vegas. I want to try it, but it seems to take a lot of time. Sometimes I just want to get in, lose all my money and get on to other things. :awinky:

Sad as it sounds Peaches I think I'm the same way... I want to get it overwith - win or lose - and then move on to other things. I like Vegas for more things than just gambling. I just want the suspense overwith and don't want that "I wanna win" or "oh shit I'm gonna lose" thing looming over my head. :awinky:

I'll admit I like to gamble some when I'm at a show in Vegas. I'm mostly a social gambler though...

Except when I'm gambling with DK... :awinky:

If I'm playing by myself, I tend to do the same thing...and that's more likely to be at Blackjack. Leave as soon as I get up or down a certain amount.

If I'm being sociable and wanna sit down, kick back, drink and gamble a bit, Pai Gow Poker is the perfect game for it if you dont wanna spend a lot of money. And the pace is slow enough that you can have some conversation.

Now I'm talking Pai Gow POKER, not regular Pai Gow. Regular Pai Gow is played with big dominos. I dont know that game and am not asian enough to play it. Pai Gow Poker is played with a single deck of cards and is quite easy to pick up if you understand basic poker rules well enough to know how the hands rank.

Well, find me in Vegas and I'll sit down and play whatever this thing is with ya. Then I'll just add you to my list of people who have watched me lose on a constant basis. :P

I was wondering who would capitalize on that quote when I saw it last night.... lol

Shoulda known it would be the kid... I hear that kind of sarcasm runs in the family. Well done Peaches. He should survive the world just fine... that is - if he survives making this post today. :yowsa:
