hmm, that's a good question. It seems like every city has it's speciality.

Sicily in general is famous for it's deserts and a morning breakfast desert called granita (kinda like a 7-11 slushy). You dip a sweet bread in it and eat. It's really good in the summer.

I personally love the "Ricotta Salatta" from Catania. It's this salty cheese you put on your pasta instead of Parmasean. It's soooooo good.

I can't believe how many people get so obsessed with pig style shopping so much the day after pigging out on food as well.

They showed a local Best Buy store on the local news that was set to open at 6AM and people had started camping out Thanksgiving night at 8PM. WTF? Waiting outside an electronics store to open 10 hours later??
That's just whacko.

Personally I make sure I never get near a mall from Thanksgiving to New Years (though to be honest, I probably only hit the mall once a year anyway - if that). But there ARE some awesome deals out there on "Black Thursday". I know our local SprawlMart was selling DVD players for $30, decent digital cameras for under $100, 20 inch flat screen TV for $99, etc.

If you're going to be buying the crap anyway, you might as well get it at the early morning sale price! :P
