These are asking prices, and I'm more than happy to offer serious discounts for quick deals on any of these names. The asking prices are not very "inflated" and look certainly better than having "make offer" next to each name! :)

Why's everyone so fast to laugh as soon as someone posts prices on domains for sale, whenever its 3 digits and higher?

A couple hundred for a domain isn't really a lot of money if it has some type-in traffic, and a decent name for development.

looking at those prices iridium's domains are very reasonably prices.

we've done several deals with him in the past,
he's an honest guy to deal with.

The names you mention are interesting in this discussion of domain name values, so here is my little appraisal:

dialerprograms.com $500 this one is difficult to appraise, the singular form would be much better (maybe $1k?), and in any case the name is no that catchy to use within the adult biz.

dialerbilling.com $4000 - $5000 this name is ideal for any company specializing in billing services using dialers. name makes sense, describes the product, very brandable.
$4k is a minuscule marketing investment for any serious company in that field.

lord-of-the-rings.net $0 you got the trademark, the hyphens, the .net... :)
