I managed to get a small Butterball turkey in the supermarket yesterday. Not a big deal for most people but the first time I have seen one in the UK. Over the years I have managed to make most dishes but the whole green bean casserole thing doesn't work as well over here becaue the onion ring things are really difficult to find. Pitty because I love that dish.

I know everyone loves those but have you tried frying onion rings crisp?

I don't eat birds, beef, pork, etc. My T-day is going to be different. Here's my planned menu.

Potatoes Au Gratin – with wild mushrooms, sheep’s milk cheeses
Grilled veggies with balsamic & rosemary
Sage corn muffins w/ cranberries
Pumpkin Crème Brule

I'll take sweet potato casserole over green bean casserole any day!
I love green beans, I love the french fried onions, but for some reason I just don't like them together.

Sarah if you'd let us know earlier I would've been happy to mail you some cans of french fried onions!

i never think about it until it is almost up to the date. As it isn't a holiday over here I miss out on all the build up and I am only cooking for two so I don't have the running around going mental thing either.
