I believe that they may be. I can think of no other reason for them to have a hard time paying their debts.

They owe my designer $4000 for referrals and have not paid him. He has referred them more than $32,000USD in new content sales.

They have owed him this money for more than 4 months now and he is continuing to earn money from new referrals, but has only gotten a single check for 500 bucks and now they've started ignoring me.

So like a good friend I called Norm (who imho is as big a dick as they come) and asked him to pay his debts. He decided it would be easier to hang up on me and transfer me to somebody's voicemail.

If he hasnt paid his debt by monday via fedex I'm going to purchase the debt and begin collections.

Unfortunately I am a bit concerned because i think they may be bankrupt, after all, why else would they refuse to pay for their bread and butter?

They were one of the companies who settled with Acacia, and was accused of giving out webmaster names. Many have boucotted them. Their business may have suffered lately - bigtime....

Contents sales kinda suck anyway.....

Will your recently developed techniques work with a mainstream debtor business?

Matrix is in the usa. It's really a shame, and ya know, i wouldnt even be involved except that by him not paying his debts he forces me to make employee advances :(

So I guess Norm expects somebody else to pick up the slack when he welches?

He even had the balls to hang up on me. And I was really quite polite with him. Maybe it's that "deer in the headlights" knee jerk reaction.

The owners of Matrix are Cockholsters!

They gave away webmaster information to Acacia.

What really pissed me off is when webmasters called them on it, and were calling the office they were telling people it was no them, and "possibly DirectNIC".

The are lucky I never could find anything in writing or posted from them about this, because I would have fried them!!

Anyone who does business with them, deserves what they get!!

hahaha.. no he did not, but i'm sure he doesnt know who I am. We've spent a ton of money with them too, really too bad. They used to be such a good company.

Oh well, time for fresh blood to step up and for places like freshphotos to take the lead i guess. Now if freshphotos would just do auto download! :)

geez you guys.

Hooper, maybe someone "stole" you guys money at the same time someone "stole" their webmaster database. surprised you did not think of that.

<invisible ink>
... waiting now for the "well... please help us prove it was stolen" post of vindication.

Matrix never did follow through with what they said on that incident did they?

Makes you wonder. . . .

I seriously doubt if anybody is buying content from them after that. I've been inundated with e-mails from them offering content deals.

Content biz isn't great BUT there is a really nice opportunity for somebody to jump in and do the same content Matrix does - American glamour and pornstar models.

Hoop, let's confab. Actually this has nothing to do with Matrix, but it does have to do with collections. I have one company who has been deliquent on their advertising debt to me for quite some time now and while they doesn't ignore me (actually, they do, but one out of five times I get a response eventually) they ALWAYS have another excuse each month on why they haven't paid and I've about had it at this rate. (No, it is no one who posts on this board, and no, I won't say who it is at the moment, but they are no one "big".)

So here I've been debating using a collection agency -- naming them on boards and getting into rows works sometimes, but I've been seriously thinking about using "real world" techniques for a while now. In fact, I was debating about posting this here, and wham, read this thread, so very appopriate.

Btw, there was, about a year and a half ago, a collection service that had a full page ad in AVN print mag. Anyone happen to recall who they were or their contact information?

Same here...

There was no chance they were going to do anything, for the obvious reasons...

I will never buy anything from them again and will be on the lookout for other incarnations of the same company/people...

I agree 100% :okthumb:

If someone can produce the same quality content as Matrix then they would have my $$$ because I've looked through 50+ content sites and there's only say 5 or 6 that do decent stuff.

I'm not talking Amateur, I'm talking high end American glamour and pornstar models.
