I figured if anyone here had the musical taste to enjoy Arch Enemy, it would be you guys ;-)

I caught them as the opening act for Slayer and hateebreed last night and was blown away...

Who would have thought that a female could be a damn good death metal vocalist? (not a sexist statement, ladies, so put away the mace, it's just that females in death metal are VERY rare, especially hot ones ;-)))

...and since when did hot chicks start going to Slayer shows AND moshing just as hard as the guys???

I thought I was at a Bon Jovi show for a minute....bloody-nosed barbie doll types abound...

I think Britney needs to get some damn moshpits going at her shows...hit me one more time indeed!

Video evidence of the amazing sounds of Arch Enemy:

I've heard a few things from them. Amazing band.

Nick, perhaps a little Weathergirls "It's raining Men" for ya? I know it was an office favorite when I was up there....

or, if we're talking 80's classics...maybe Venom "Black Metal", Slayer "Reign In Blood", Innocent Rage "Accidental Sodomy (demo)", The CorpsePhuckers single "Of Human Bondage"

ah, the 80's..there was nothing quite like them..

Hey is that show coming to San Diego? Would love to check that out. Though, Slayer shows here tend to be at the 4th & B and I don't have a fake ID. Not that I would use it or anything!

I saw Chevelle last night. Might not be something you guys are into, but they put on a good show. Have seen them the past two years at Ozzfest.

If you have digital cable or satellite, look for a channel called Fuse. Every night around 8 or 9 they have a show called Uranium. It's a chick host that goes backstage at metal concerts to meet the guys, play some good hard videos, and show their concert footage. Awesome show, I watch a couple nights a week.

I've not heard of Bleeding Through, I'll check them out. I always count on you and [Labret] to point me to amazing new shit....that these old farts call shit ;-))

Wait, I hit 34 tomorrow...fuck, I'm an old fart now........now, I'm depressed, time to break out my golden oldies from Venom and Mercyful Fate.....

I cant go a full day without listening to Bleeding Thrrough.

Listen to this: Bleeding Through: Rise

'sink your teeth into delicate skin.
armor that hides your thoughts for this eternity,
a clean break that will never heal.
is this the pain? that was felt every day,
fuck you, things will never change,
so where's the pain? that was felt everyday,
so fuck you, you'll never change, never change.

now we both bleed, now we both die.
now we both lose inside.
now we both lose,
we've been here forty times and we still lose forty one times.
we still lose in the end, time to rise.
every second of every hour.
time to rise.
we all lose in the end.
I'll forget this, I'll forget you,
I'll forget everyone,
I'll forget love letters you never fucking wrote.
is this the pain.
so where is the pain.
so bring the pain.
I sweated blood for you.
time to rise.'

Forest, real punk rockers STILL buy Vinyl.

Punk bands here still put out vinyl cept even MORe than in the past. There is a HUGE rock scene thast, unlike most is not broke. This city is filled with bands that have good jobs, are paid well and put out awesome vinyl and merch.

Just because Aerosmith isnt putting out vinyl, doesnt mean the small guys still arent.

The record industry doesnt shove vinyl down your throat anymore, but the independent bands still put them out.

Now they are red, blue, green, purple, vinyl instead of just black ;)

Yeah, the slut from Arch Enemy is sick. Getting a lot of press because of it. Couple years ago you couldn't name more than a couple girls that could pull that off. In fact, I have been pretty adamant about no women in metal. Nothing ruined a perfectly brutal song than some weak ass chick vocals. Girls screaming does not instill fear in me, the shrill screaching makes me want to bury a screwdriver into it. I dont think I changed my mind until I saw Candice from Walls of Jericho 3 years ago. I would have to say though my favorite female in metal now is the girl from Undying. Tiny, relatively hot little emocore girl that is just brutal. http://www.detroithardcore.com/mp3/undying.mp3

Lemme know if you want the new Arch Enemy and I will upload it. Anthems of Rebellion its called. I think its the only one she appears on, the old singers being guys.

Shit, I was just reading up on their website and didn't even notice that the guitarist for Arch Enemy played for Carcass...

upload away ;-)

I gave them money by buying a damn $30 tshirt and my wife a $20 pair of panties (she's not really into the death metal as much as I am, but she was going on about these guys too..I'll get her to come around full tilt someday...maybe the Vital Remains showing coming up ;-))

Undying is amazing. I heard them on Netscape radio's metal station and had to hunt down some other stuff...

I debated whether or not to upload this one, I do have principles. And while I do not agree with what they have done to my beloved core, I must say... upon giving this one a few plays it was nice to see them move back away from the numetal faggotry. I guess an attempt to get some of the old fanbase back and salvage some credibility. This is some solid solid metal with a nice chewy oldschool hardcore center. Hopefully this will alienate most of their new fanbase.

Hatebreed actually tore it up live and it was one of the more intense pits as well...it was up there with tha Agnostic Front pit of many years ago (back in the days when if you hit the ground, you stayed there) I think it may have actually dampened Slayer's pit a little bit...everyone was fucking exhausted...

I had avoided Hatebreed as more mediocre numetal crap, but after hearing some of their late-90's stuff and finally catching them live, I'm becoming a convert...
