Came home tonight, hit me like a ton of bricks. Think I have the flu. Or maybe I am just in withdrawals from KC and Chris.

Or maybe its stress from the upcoming wedding!!

I read somewhere that flu season has started early, and is stronger then previous years....

Anyone ever get a flue shot? I thought they were for old people?

Flu is bad in Texas. Hope it is just a little bug and not the real deal.

Laura has been sick a few days, but do not think it is the flu after looking up symptoms. Maybe I got sick for waiting on her and listening to her whine! I was going to come home and fake illness for sympathy, but it back fired.

They are saying it's going to be a bad year and with more strains of it.

(knocking on wood) I've never had the flu so I don't bother getting the shots.

Brad, at my mother's "retirement community" (read: absurdly expensive condos in FL), they have something you can take w/in the first day or so which greatly reduces the symptoms. Call your Dr. and see if he knows what it is.

They aren't just for old people. You can still get the flu, you just have much milder symptoms than someone who doesn't have the shot. Unfortunately, you can experience brief flu-like symptoms after getting one, but they are still worth it.

They really push getting the shot down in FL because of all the seniors.
The year I was down there, everyone was healthy as a horse UNTIL the flu shots came out... then BAM!! Everyone was sick as a dog for the next friggin' month.
I am convinced that the flu shots are what gives so many people the flu... shoot a few million people up with a contagious virus and then wonder why it hits like crazy. Does this not make sense to anyone else?

I don't know about those. My ex got one a few weeks ago, and got sick the next week. Kind of makes you wonder.

Its bad. I know someone who picked up a nasty flu in California just before Christmas, returned to Canada and died two weeks later. Apparently this has happened a few times. Get your shots. Its a very bad year.
