question for serge

Way back in 1998 or so I remember on the YNOT board serge had moved all his server to EXODUS or something.

They were like the fastest network around at the time.

You had said it increased your clicks or profits, I Don't remember by like 30%. I think the webfather said he had done the same.

I read last night how for each 1 second a surfer waits you lose 10% of them traditionally.

Do you remember this serge? What is the absolutely fucking FASTEST network you can host with these days.

in my own opinion, not the fastest but one of the fastes, is Hurricane Electric(he.net) .. they have been flying for years now.. as long as I can remember... but they used to be extremely expensive also.

Don´t know, if he.net is too expensive today... we got an offer for 1000 Mbps flat rate / gigabit ethernet transit for $20K/month - thats cogent pricing!

i own freeporn.com which i guess is my biggest typein..


i dont need lots of transfer, just speed.

There is no doubt smoking fast BW and servers help.

of course now they have geoservers and targeting, so depending on where surfer is coming from he is served a page from a server very close to him.

I know Akamai is one of the main products. As far as hosting, you would have to ask around.
