Ive used the california child birth facts in many a arguments.

scary shit.

Every 8 minutes, a teenager in California has a baby.

3 of 4 births to High School girls are fathered by adults.

Men over 25 account for twice as many teen births as boys under 18 years old.

Men over 20 are responsible for 5 times as many births among junior high school girls.

In California almost 70% of teen births are fathered by adult men.

On an average California day 76 teenage girls, 17 & younger, will give birth.

In 1993 1,572 births in California were to mothers 14 years or younger.

The rate of sexually transmitted disease among teenage girls is twice that of teenage boys.

This all translates into a tremendous drain in our welfare and medical resources statewide.

AFDC and Medi-Cal costs for 1 teen pregnancy, birth and 1st year support is $10,000.

Total costs for teen births to those 17 and younger in 1993 for California were $140 million.'

like fucking rabbits.

Got into it all around 12 or so when I stumbled across social distortion on Night Flight. I am not so much into new punk at all really. I am old old school. Minor Threat, Black Flag, Bad Brains, Cro Mags, Agnostic Front, Negative Approach, Circle Jerks. Went skin around 18 so in oi and hardcore is where my heart lies.

I don't go back as far in NO as you two but ......

razoo has drunken karaoke again or had at least the past few times I've been down - no more bands

Shim Sham club closed down a few months ago - nothing like a bar that had 80's nights, burlesque nights and the only 2 beers on tap .... Pabst Blue Ribbon and Guinness - I've crawled um walked out of there a few times when the sun was coming up. Nothing like the stench of the Quarter at 7 AM

I'm a part time tourist with local status so I can go to the Original Dungeon

The bars in Pirates Alley have changed owners/names so many times I can't remember

Sin City was cool, was still ok when the name changed to Babylon but now it's the Morgue and different bartenders/owner - no when near as cool - first place I ever heard "Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies"

Last time I was in NOLA I saw EYEHATEGOD and HIGH ON FIRE at the Shim Sham on Halloween, it was a skeleton party. People were swing dancing to punk rock dressed as skeletons and ghouls.

The door guy Fritz is a bud of mine.

Those bars all change soooo much.

Since college ive watched them change names and owners more than a fucking hollywood whore.

my old time favorite bar in NOLA was J & Ks on the westbank, General Myers, till my boys got shot in a drive by there.

good times though.

for me NOLA is a city devoted to hedonism
Incredible dining, great shopping and 24 hour drinking

and that's all before I get into everything else NOLA has to offer

and women come from all over to have a great time, they become a totally different person (or maybe the little bit of tiger within comes out since they most likely will never see anyone there again - until they end up on girls gone wild ah ha ha ha)

p.s. of course most of the Quarter is dirty, foul and nasty

CoC, Circle Jerks, Bad Brains all great...

I am 32 as well.... Two of my roommates in college were in bands, and one of them was a DJ for the Alternative radio show in campus. So I had no choice but to expand my horizons....

We saw this german punk band the other night, very cool... they had just gotten in from new zealand that day to play this show... after the first song they went into this dialogue, broken english but said something like:

"its very cool to be here in california, or austria, cause you know you are no longer part of the united states, california.... now you're the united states of austria, with your new governor..."

Then they said they wished this austria was as close to their hometown as the real austria, because it was only a few miles away.

It ruled, they ended their set with the kkk took my baby away, ramones song, after nazi jokes between songs.

hehehe.. Stand Up is calling you PD :-)

My daughter is into modern punk (which sounds more like pop music to me) but every now and then she goes on a hardcore binge and the house walls vibrate with gutteral roars...

She doesnt appear really interested in the politics of the music... but I still hate that she gets any input that nazis and racism is cool or funny... In the end I guess all that matters is what she takes from it herself.. but it still shits me!!

Wow, I actually have some Exploited playing now...
my favorite song is "Generals"

I accidently borrowed that riff for a song I wrote a long time ago...one of those, "hey, this sounds catchy" things that leads to "shit, no wonder....it's already been written by someone else"

My father had a nice way of dealing with Nazis. It was a 50-cal.

All I've ever got to use on them was a Louisville Slugger. Effective, but not nearly as efficient.
