"His level of understanding is off the charts," Isiah Thomas said. "When the other players on his team figure out how good he really is? It's a new day"

Isiah thinks so

Sorry but being about 10% of the way through the season is WAY too soon to declare the guy the "real deal" IMHO.

Maybe I'm just too old school but nobody gets labeled great until they prove it over time. When he does it year in and year out THEN he can be considered great or the "real deal" in hoops.

I agree with Forest! Lebron IS the real deal!
And so is Carmello Anthony AND TJ Ford!
All three of those young bucks are future All-Stars...

I agree, he has a long way to go.....

Rookies usually hita wall adter 20-30 games, since that is all they play in college OR High School. In th NBA its 82 games.... will see how he holds on.

HE has skills, but is not the choosen one yet.

Good to see someone else who isn't ready to hop on the bandwagon yet!! :okthumb:

I am a Carmello fan.

I also think the NBA is too tough for someone from HS to come in and
excel at.... he will take a few years.

He has the skills, and potential - but lots of potential in the world.

What seperate Jordan was his fanaticism of beingthe best at everything.

30 points a game is nice, but without a W its just a meanless stat.

That's what seperates anyone/anything that is "great" at what they do from those that are average. Look at Tiger Woods. He could be content just showing up every week and collecting a paycheck but he still works 8 hours a day on his game even though no one is even close to him.

Same goes for business. The best companies don't just say "well, we're the best, no need to work any harder." They continually innovate to stay on top and ahead of their competition.
