hubby ,

With Van gogh ,...... you know if with your hand , by putting it in front of your eye you "block out" certain parts of his paintings , in the example say below ( one of his paintings of his bedroom in Arles) , block out his bed.

You will see the whole "feeling" of his painting changes.

Becomes colder , and more depressed.

Try it :-)

I am SO unartistic - all I noticed was that the bed was no longer in the painting. :(

I have nothing against art. I just don't understand it. I look at that Picasso and it says to me this guy was whacked out of his gourd when he painted that. You look at it and see a thing of beauty. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

You want me to get you the info? They keep running a notice about it on the talk radio.

Ulfie, you said it..Art is not beer, it DOES require education. I wasn't born
with appretiation of fine art, I was taught and I'll be delighted to send some literature your way on the subject.

I disagree. You either have it or you don't. I grew up in a house where we went to museum after museum, I took Art History classes in both HS and college, I took art classes, my mother is a VERY gifted artist and my father and stepmother collect ancient Indian artwork and still travel to museums all over the world.

Don't get me wrong - I love art - all kinds - paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, architecture, glass, iron, etc. And there's some that literally takes my breath away. But I can't do what Nick said and see any difference in the emotion in that painting by putting my hand over the bed. :( I can't tell you where a shadow will fall on objects or what combination of them will evoke certain feelings. I've read about famous artists that will paint something and be frustrated until they add one small item to the painting - that's beyond my artistic abilities to even understand.

I think you have to have a talent for the process in order to appreciate it that deeply and understand all the small nuances. :)

great painting!

Anybody know what the lowest price is for a Picasso painting?
How about a drawing?

Peaches, I do think there is hope for everyone when it comes to understanding and appreciating art. You have to really want to learn, and it helps if you have a true love for art...any kind of art.

When I was in college, I almost switched my major to art. The art students were given special privileges. They could come to dinner in clothes smeared with paint and dressed in casual clothes. I'm looking at a print above my desk that my best friend printed in her sorority basement. It is black and white, called "The Bathers," and looks like it could be one of Picasso's earlier works. In fact, it has a subtle porn look to it.

Why don't you *reread* my comments. Did I mention your name regarding not understanding art? Fuck No. I just addressed you because you were talking about all the different things you have done to understand and appreciate art. I said....THERE IS HOPE FOR EVERYONE!

Get off your bitching high horse. I have joked with you many times, and you continue to nit pick and get all hormoned up and strike out. Find a man and get screwed. You need to get your pussy wet and take out your anger on a big swollen cock. :groucho:

Here we go with another of your standard responses which consist of:

Carrie: Stop working in porn since you have kids and your kids are being affected
Darci: I don't care a bit about you but you need to get away from Kevin because he's socially engineering you
KK: You're a drunk who's still mad at Brad
Me: You need to get laid.

I find it interesting that you know what goes on in our homes and personal lives. :P I suppose since you have no life you attempt to live yours through us. :okthumb:

And yes, you DID address those things to me. When someone starts a paragraph with "Peaches" and then goes on to ramble about something which has already been disputed in detail, it's a little obvious, don't you think? :biglaugh:

Peaches, stop being a fucking bitch. It's getting very old.

Per your logic, I'm going to assume you weren't talking to me, but just generalizing everyone. :D Not to mention how ironic everyone thinks you calling ANYONE a fucking bitch and telling them being a fucking bitch is getting old, lol!

Maybe some day you can get some friends and contacts outside adult message boards where you have no business to conduct nor friends to conduct it with. Until that time, I suppose we're stuck with your bitter "I hate the world" attitude. Forgive us if we enjoy pointing and laughing at the box you made for yourself and are stuck in. :agrin:

OMG - that sounds like a total nightmare. What a jerk and what a sorry way to act around his own daughter!

I swear, PK - I was talking with Lisa at PMB about this the other day - if I didn't like the penises, big shoulders, hairy chests and big hands so much, I'd become a lesbian just because men are such PAINS to deal with!

Peaches & Gonzo, showing us the sides of your personalities we see daily on Oprano, it doesn't take an Einstein to understand why the two of you haven't been fucked in years.

Bitter! Cheapshots! Peaches, you no longer deserve your name. You are showing that you are a bigger bitch than any the females on Oprano. Sure, kiss some more Gonzo ass. Warm up to the men. But we know you have had no luck with men. They fuck you over without touching your body...just your pocketbook.

Go work on your quilts for your logcabin. Take my meds? HA HA. I bet if we compared the drugs that you and I have taken this past year, your list would be a mile longer than mine.

If you want to apology to me on Oprano, I will connect you with an excellent cosmetic surgeon who can do wonders with those thunder thighs and fat ass of yours. No need to thank me...just apologize for being a bitch to me. You have so sense of humor. You write like an old maid school teacher. Nobody is going to come near you, Miss Peches, until you change your attitude.

Now, go out and have a nice day and try to see the bright side of life. Not every man looks and acts like Gonzo. You may think you need to be nice to this fat bastard because you are scared of being on your own, but trust me.....it's time you tested your wings and flew away from your safe little nothing life.

Prove it! You haven't had sex in years! You are constantly asking me for proof that I have websites...that I speak for myself...that I don't take meds...that I have actually been in porn since '95...that I have many friends. Put up or shut the fuck up! B)

And thar she blows.......

Serge, come on. Time for the truth. Doesn't Gonzo embarrass you with his comments? God what a piece of shit he is. He is no competition. He is just a boring fuck with no life who attacks me because he gets points from his hacker idol. BRING BACK ROBIN! BRING BACK MUTT. REHIRE LUKE FORD. Do anything, but get rid of Gonzo.

GONZO IS A FAT FLATULENT FUCK! :moon:

Serge, better be careful. Peaches is taking a long hard look at females these days. Your lady might be her choice over you.

Seriously, I'm going to give Peaches a big hug in Las Vegas before I tell her my name. We might turn out to be buddies, and I can introduce her to my single brother. He loves log cabins and southern women with an attitude. :wnw:

I don't hug people I don't know and I can assure you that no family member of yours will meet my strict requirements. B)

I'm not strong enough to give her that kind of hug, but I will be happy to cheer you on. :wnw:
