ps. yes i know it was a thread already, but it didn't have a snazzy enough title like this one...and now with it framed on YNOT..it looks more like a real article.

That part of the article wasn't satire... it is so true.... but then again, in all fairness... how many times have we misinterpretted the way someone said something in email or IM....

We would be in a far more chaotic state if it weren't for those smileys!

Unfortunately, smileys are not well suited for articles....so thus, the need to clarify *sigh*

Someone had commented to (jokingly) getting their own set of patents. My reply (in reference to my article):

Understand that it could cost you $15k-$50K for the whole patent process..and that doesn't guarantee that your patent will be approved.

Add on the fact that there are re-occuring patent fees to file... it could get to be a costly "hobby".

Then wait for 2-3 years until the patent is approved (assuming it was novel and unique)...and then you can start to implement your patent licensing plan....

But wait, there's more............. now you need money to sue people. There are attorney firms that will do it for a large percentag of the take.....assuming that they think you have a solid patent and a wide enough market.

What would be more effective is to buy some patents, doesn't have to even be relevant to anything..and just BROADLY INTERPRET the patent to mean more than what it says... you'll be more effective.

If you are up late nite, you might find one of those patent-it-yourself-kits. If you act now, we'll throw in a free licensing agreement and another patent-it-yourself-kit for the same low price. Call now...
